re: 05 Itaska Horizon . Can anyone give me any ideas on the easiest way to access the the fresh water tanks? I think I have a leak connecting the two tanks as they will leak if too much water added. Its not the overflow .

The connecting crossover piping on a 2 tank fresh water system are at the bottom. The piping will be full of water at about the 2 inch mark. If your leak is happening only when filled, chances are it's the overflow or the filler tube if your rv has one.

That would be different piping if stacked. The half way point would fill the crossover. I have never seen that but it is most likely out there. If you have no build plans, follow the piping from the pump back to the fresh water storage. Poke around and you may find access.

If you are seeing water dripping from underneath your Horizon, there's a 99.9% chance it's your tank drain leaking. I replaced mine two or three years ago, it's a PITA to access.

I did figure out there is one 70 gallon tank and a 33 gallon stacked on top of it. I am thinking the connection between them may be leaking.

Which model 2005 Horizon do you have? With that info we can look at the correct Winnebago plumbing diagram for your coach.

ISK 40 FD. I found the diagram but it doesnt show connections /fittings that i found.

So it doesn't look like the attached image? I've found the online diagrams to be pretty good, but maybe this is a case where they are wrong?

Thats not the image I was looking at. This very well could be the situation. Where did this image come from?

On my Vectra 36RD there is a large, removable, steel plate below the water tank that gives access. I made a couple of heavy duty ramps out out multiple 2x4s on edge screwed together so that I could raise the front end by driving up onto them and have space to safely roll under the coach on a creeper.

note to John. Any tips on accessing the fresh water tank?
My floorplan is the AD and apparently our water tank setups are different. The only times I've had to do anything with the water tank was to install the Garret SeeLevel tank monitor and replace the tank drain. Hopefully Chris's method will work for you, or check with Owner Relations.

Each W DP model line must be different. Mine has 3 connected fresh water tanks that surround the engine on 3 sides. To access the center tank the bedroom floor must be removed.
