.....made the Trek from AZ to WA?? We did it several years ago & are
considering different inland routes to avoid CA, etc to see different areas of the country.
Any input much appreciated....

Not totally avoiding CA.

395 north avoids most of the ugly CA. Oncr you cross the border ontl Oregon there is a wo derful little state park. Goos Lake may only have 20 A service to all but 1 site its quiet and easy to get a night or two. Over July 4 weekend it can get busy with all the hang gliders festival. There is things to do near by. Heart MT antilope refuge, there is a free obsidian collection are just south on CA and a but further east is an area you can dig for Oregon SunStones. Eastern Oregon has a lot of history you could detour to Frenchglen and the Peter French historic round barn.

We did that over 6 months but stayed for several days and weeks at some spots.

Whidbey island is beautiful, was stationed there for awhile.

Many, many times with the Cessna 421 in 3.5 hrs..>>Dan ( didn't worry about Ca. )
