Hi I'm new ... and purchasing a 2002 Coachman. Looking forward to it. Any wisdom to regale me with...

Welcome -- I'd change your "Location:" entry to no more than city and state. Available address along with other info available on the web could cause you some problems sometime.

A Coachmen coach can be OK if reasonably well maintained, which is true of most RVs. Hopefully you've had it inspected (not by the dealer). There are many, many posts on this site about RV purchase and maintenance, and hopefully you've been reading some of them.

I expect there'll be other folks along shortly with many thoughts about this, but you might mention which model of Coachmen (they make a lot of things), and whether your purchase is complete, and whether you've taken delivery.

Again, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the RV lifestyle. At this point my only advice is to find someone with extensive RV experience to help you learn the proper way to operate and use everything in it. You will find that things work much differently than the same appliances in your house.

Yes indeed Kirk!
A whole lot of differences than the sticks n bricks appliances and mechanical systems.
Especially if you are going to take care of the issues yourself...
I'm not going to dip into my pockets for every little thing I can do for myself.
