Yes, I read that this morning. Hopefully they will give more details about the exact date, and particularly regarding the millions of Canadians who received mixed approved vaccines.

And what date us Lymies can visit!

Hopefully that does not fill up all the RV parks in the southern USA with all the Canadian snowbirds during my trip to Florida next month!

I still hope some folk canceled or will. I need the month of March somewhere. So far everywhere I checked was fully reserved.
I avoid RV trips from Jan to March to the southern USA. Nov and Dec isn't bad. I think most try to get Thanksgiving and Xmas out of the way before they travel, so that is when I like to head south.

Even my favorite desert hang-out, Organ Pipe Cactus Nat'l Mon, AZ requires reservations starting in January. December is no issue and usually nice 75F / 24C weather.

I wonder how many have already booked a winter spot in Canada and will now have to weigh losing some money against better weather.

Is there any word on if Canadians can travel through the USA and then enter Mexico?

I don't know but I'm really hoping things will be even more open (less restrictive, fewer requirements) next May. We are really hoping for our adventure through most of the Canadian Provinces to Alaska and back.

To date, only if you book a flight to the US and then have a transport company take your rig across the border. They'll drop it off at your arrival location (i.e, airport or hotel) and from there you can drive to Mexico.

Hopefully that will change in November.

We've been waiting several weeks now for the imminent date. I've just had my flight cancelled, I suspect because of insufficient passengers to make it financially viable. Changed it by 5 days and hoping the date is announced soon so its not cancelled again 🙄

I would like to go next spring, I really enjoy visiting the U.S. but at the moment would require a screening test to re enter Canada at $200USD per person. I'll wait.

Maybe the Canadian officials will lighten up a bit on those regulations now. Looks like US is looking for vaccination proof, only. No test mandate.
Things gotta get better.🤞

Read the fine print on your heath insurance - rumour has it Canadians will not qualify for medical insurance if they get Covid related sickness, in some areas,in part because some areas have low vacination rates . Not sure if this is fact or fiction.

The Canadian Government still has not removed the Travel Advisory saying to avoid ANY international travel. Most insurers use that as out to providing any coverage. As for tests to enter Canada, the Deputy Prime Minister said yesterday they still require the tests for anyone entering Canada. Proof of vaccination is required if you fly into the US, but only on a request basis if you drive.

For those on the forum who haven't heard, the date that the US will allow travelers either by land or air has been announced as 8th November.

So are you planning on coming to Florida this year Ed?

i think i would want clarification from my health care provider before going.
My best friend lives in Jupiter Fla and want me to go down but neither him or his wife are vaccinated

Pam, as I said in the chat room Wednesday night , we are hoping and planning on heading to Florida. However, the travel advisory will likely need to be dropped, and DW needs to get straightened out with her meds, and that seems to be inching toward a resolution.
