Hi
I want to buy a Bicycle Helmet. I would like to buy a helmet that has a reasonably good quality, which is also suitable for everyday use.
Do you have any recommendations for a good helmet?
Thanks!

Ensure it is CPSC approved and fits comfortably, a good cycle shop is invaluable. Forget buying online, there is a lot of junk out there.
Agree with looking for the CPSC approval. I do not particularly agree with the statement "Forget buying online, there is a lot of junk out there." Yes there is some junk out there, but there are reputable bicycle merchants as well. Having said that, I believe supporting local bike shops is the right thing to do and it will give you the opportunity to try helmets on to find what fits and suits you best. Also, you should know when comparing helmets you will encounter a range in price, but a higher priced helmet does not necessarily offer greater protection than a less expensive one. The difference is the more expensive helmets offer the same level of protection, but typically with less weight, perhaps more ventilation and retention systems. These may be of interest to you, but not necessary for a basic quality helmet.

Last month, after losing my rather old Netti bike helmet, I went in search of a new one.
I tried to buy a helmet at my local bike shop for about $50, but the cheapest one they had was $64.99 and wouldn't fit my big head.
The adjustable plastic banding that encircles one's skull, on the other hand, was just around 2mm x 1mm thick, which is a failure waiting to happen.
My original Netti was around 13mm x 1mm.
Then I looked at a $329 helmet with a distinctive brand emblem that had similar 2mm x 1mm strapping.
Furthermore, all of these helmets are built in the same fashion, with a thin plastic shell glued to a polystyrene substrate.
Finally, I went online. Found a good bike review and got a helmet from one of the sellers for $24.99, which had considerably more substantial strapping than the $329 helmet.
