Washing Machine standpipe P-trap has hose inside?

My mom's RV has a washing machine closet and she has been happy for the last two years with having the small appliance. It started spewing water out of the standpipe, so I thought it might be clogged. I put a pipe cleaner down the pipe and it gurgled and seemed to clear. When I looked down the pipe, there is a double 'pipe' that is inside the plumbing pipe and the water goes down that?

any help on knowing if that is supposed to be in there? 2015 Open Range RV

I'm not recognizing what you describe. My coach had standard washer drain plumbing, a stand-pipe with a "P" in the pipe.

Thinking a bit more about this, is the dryer perhaps the unvented tyope? Those dry the clothes by running cooling water over an evaporator coil, and that water also gets flushed down the drain. Maybe there is a special drain tube to accommodate that?

Sounds to me like you might have one of these. Had one fail a few weeks ago - took it out and put in an S-trap.
Another PIC showing the inside - that inside "membrane" had somehow turned inside out and was blocking the drain.

I think this is what is in there. Here is a pic from the top, it is a floppy heavy vinyl thing?, So I could put in an S trap?

This is a stationary trailer, so I am not worried about it drying out nor about it freezing.

Yes. That looks like a similar device. The membrane is pushed back "up" the pipe so it blocks the waste flow.
I chose to do the S-trap because I had room and the company that made that "trap" device told be they recommended at least 40" of standpipe above it.
I've had no issues with the S-trap.

S traps are no longer recommended. Found that they actually allow sewer gases to come back up. P trap is the newest thing.
