Normally, while in CA, Chris and I watch a "New York New Year"; i.e. we watch the New York ball drop 3 hours earlier (CA time v NY time), kiss & wish each other a happy new year, then off to sleep. This year we were in the MidWest (on NY time), and chose to watch the Nashville bash. Enjoyed the Country music. A few songs, such as Darius Rucker's Wagon Wheel, are numbers we've performed in the ukulele band. I had a few ah-ah moments, saying to myself "that's how it's played and sung"!

Have you heard the Original by The Old Crow Medicine Show.
It was originally started but never finished by Bob Dylan.

No I haven't, but thanks. I'll check it out.

The Old Crow Medicine Show is an excellent group, especially for old time music -- they tend to be lively. Besides their "official" music video, here are some other Utube links of them on that song:

At Americana Music Festival on PBS in 2013:

On the Marty Stuart Show in 2011 on RFD TV (We watch Marty often, too):

At Coachella in 2010:

Of course there are more of these, and lots of other songs by them, too.

I love it when they are on the Grand Old Opry. They surely can liven things up. We decided to watch the Nashville New Years eve show with John Rich and Jimmy Failla .

I'll have to say that the Nashville show was vastly superior to the Dick Clark show (we had guests that insisted we switch at the news break). Not only less ad's, but much better entertainment! Hopefully this will become the new standard.
