Hello
We have a 2005 Holiday Ramble Endeavor. Getting ready to retire and travel some but I need wifi on the road. Does anyone know the best bang for the buck? I have no idea who even offers and what equipment I would need
Thank You

Welcome! I see this is your first post here.

You get what you pay for.

I use a Verizon Portable Hotspot. It worked every stop everywhere I tried during this three-month trip all over the SE (mostly there in FL). It even worked in the Everglades where my Verizon PAYG cell would not work at all.

I am using it now, just as with all my posts here when I am in my motorhomes.

Thanks Don can you use it when you are rolling and if I use it to watch netflix and such will the cost burn me

I'm on a Verizon family plan that's costing me just over $100 a month for 2 phones (with hotspot capability) and an actual hotspot. When we travel my DW uses data like crazy. Between all three devices we have 75GB of hotspot data. It's not enough. I've been looking at Visible. Unlimited data but speed limited to 5MBPS. That's plenty fast for most things. I you join a group it's $25 a month per device.

Visible is a great deal, but be aware you're limited to using one device at a time on a phone hotspot. You can't legally use a dedicated data hotspot like a Jetpack. And you'll be the first to slow down if you're in a congested area where lots of other people are crowding onto a tower.

Visible now offers unlimited 5G data in limited areas with up to 200 MB speeds for the same low price. But it's subject to the same limitations, you have to buy a 5G phone from them and only use one device at a time on the phone's hotspot.

Here is what Visible shows on my account - I got the SIM and activated it on an iPhone and placed in the Jetpack. Covered this setup with a Visible chat agent.

Novatel phone

Jetpack 4G LTE MHS MiFi 7730L

It's been over a year and they have not cut me off. I routinely get 15 - 20 Mb/s downloads and use a portable router for all the devices in my motorhome. Wife does on line meetings as we roll, at time. Very few problems.

There is a way of getting around that limitation. It's worked on Verizon. And other folks who have used it say it work on Visible as well.

I was planning on using it on my phone but using my MiFi 8800 would be much better.

Are you saying a Visible custime service agent helped you set it up?

We have unlimited data on our iPhones and IPads. I have been the using one iPad with cell connected to a router In the rv. Plug lightning connector into iPad and usb connector into router. Now multiple devices can be connected to same iPad. i have done the same at farm for our security cameras. It cost me a $28 router. No more monthly charges for hotspots.

Only glitch I have encountered is from time to time IPad does not charge and will shutdown. i just plug iPad into charger for a few hours and then plug it back into router every few days.

I have been using this router since September:

I thought that was the case as well but I was helping a friend get started with Visible recently and she was told on a number of forums that more than one could use her Visible phone's hotspot. Wonder if she got some bad info or if they're changed their policy?

Netflix? I can use it in motion, and I was watching TV with it in the Everglades and other places on my "FireTV" in this RV. On this trip I changed my plan to the unlimited with Verizon and I am glad I did. I even updated the maps on my RV GPS with it the other night. I now use it just as I would use the cable internet at home, but it now costs me twice as much as it did when I started this trip a few months ago. I think I am now paying Verizon $110.00 per month for just my Hotspot and I find it to be worth every penny.

It is supposed to slow down after so much data is used, but I have not yet got there--but I am trying to! I use it for anything I want as much as I want and so far, no issues.

Visible says their hotspot data is limited to 5 mbps and the phone hotspot is programmed to only connect to one device at a time. Some people are making that one device a router which in turn distributes the data to multiple devices. Others are activating their Visible SIMs in a qualifying phone, then transplanting the SIM into a non-qualifying device like a Jetpack that supports multiple devices. IMO both practices are similar to those who decide to live in the national forests, subjecting the areas to overuse and changing what is supposed to be short term recreational access into a long term rent free lifestyle. They may profit for a while by bending the rules but eventually access is tightened to control the abuse at the expense of everyone else.

We will see, I doubt they, Visible, cares. They obviously know what device I am using.
Muddy, The Visible customer service agent I chatted with acknowledged my hardware plan. No assistance; I had the configuration I wanted to use and the agent said it would likely work - no guarantees.
I am not professing that this setup is valid with Visible, only that it works.

FMCA Tech Connect... 50/month. plus 50 set up, when they say UNLMITED they mean it NO throttle point Full speed no limits.. Speeds vary depending on tower and how busy it is.

T-Mobile/Sprint coverage.

Like DonTom I like it simple. I was still working when I started this fun. I have a Verizon Unlimited plan for like $75 a month with no throttling.

I stream and use as much data as I want. I also have hooked up 4 devices at once to my Samsung A51 phone.
