10 bucks a month discount for vets. Only have to do it once, and we did it at the store, but I think you can show proof online also.I didn't know Verizon gave a military discount.
Not positive on that.

I assume this is one of the things we need to know, i.e., they won't tell us unless we ask.10 bucks a month discount for vets. Only have to do it once, and we did it at the store, but I think you can show proof online also.
I think I have been paying ten bucks per month too much for years.
Thanks, but I wonder if it only applies to phones and portable hotspots, etc. But I will check into it.Check this out.
When I got my military discount, you had to show up in person. Being retired I could use my retired ID card. They want a DD-214 but I heard some places were excepting VA ID cards.I didn't know Verizon gave a military discount.

It really makes no sense to not accept either, but I have also experienced some places accept one but not the other. A DD-214 proves military service and the VA card proves the DD-214.They want a DD-214 but I heard some places were excepting VA ID cards.
From Ziplock's post I see they are now doing proof of ID through ID.meWhen I got my military discount, you had to show up in person. Being retired I could use my retired ID card. They want a DD-214 but I heard some places were excepting VA ID cards.
Thank you for that info! I am also searching for the best affordable internet access while traveling across the country. I got Verizon for a trial period and it failed to deliver, so I switched to AT&T for our mobile devices. However, for internet instead of using hotspot through them, I will definitely now check out Visible. Thanks again )I'm on a Verizon family plan that's costing me just over $100 a month for 2 phones (with hotspot capability) and an actual hotspot. When we travel my DW uses data like crazy. Between all three devices we have 75GB of hotspot data. It's not enough. I've been looking at Visible. Unlimited data but speed limited to 5MBPS. That's plenty fast for most things. I you join a group it's $25 a month per device.
Been a long time but I seem to remember I was able to register online with the info in my DD 214 somehow. It looks like their discounts now apply to a number of different groups. Not sure if that's new or was always the case. From Ziplock's post I see they are now doing proof of ID through ID.me
Visible uses Verizon infrastructure. If you don't have service with Verizon, you won't have it with Visible.Thank you for that info! It does appear I can reply to my own post...I thought that was the case as well but I was helping a friend get started with Visible recently and she was told on a number of forums that more than one could use her Visible phone's hotspot. Wonder if she got some bad info or if they're changed their policy?
I notice no difference at all. That means your data connection will be miserable.
Extended Network means you've roamed onto another provider's tower. Verizon contracts with other companies to provide service in a couple of areas where they don't have their own towers. Usually you can select whether or not to allow this as part of the device's setup.Right now, I have five bars on my 4G LTE Verizon Jetpack portable hotspot. Model 5510L.
It says, "Extended Network 3G". What does "Extended Network" mean?

That was what I assumed it meant, but I wasn't sure.Extended Network means you've roamed onto another provider's tower. Verizon contracts with other companies to provide service in a couple of areas where they don't have their own towers.
