What is your favorite fast food restaurant?

I am not averse to fast food but any more I'd just as soon skip it than yell into a box to someone that doesn't want to be there to give me something I don't really like. I tend to gravitate to hole in the wall/mom & pop places for unique or traditional/old school stuff. When travelling, whether by car or RV we'll usually cruise surface streets along the way in search of such places and as long as it's not a chain, it gets the nod. It's rare we're disappointed and it becomes a memory rather than just a gut bomb.

We used to do the same. We looked for the little hole in the wall place with the most pickups parked out front. Always good food and quite often a good conversation with some locals.

I never actually considered Waffle House as "Fast Food" but if it is, then that is my #1 FF place.
In my trucking days, my atlas had every WH that had truck parking nearby marked.
In my tech support days, when traveling to customer sites, I always picked a hotel that was in walking distance to a WH if one existed in the area.

on a side note, THE WH's in Colorado seem to be far less inspired than I remember back home.

My buddy did that for several years, except his mission was to see all his relatives around the country (he has a LOT). They'd set up a route to stay in various relative's driveways for a day or two at a time, with stops inbetween at various parks and campgrounds. In doing so they discovered the spot they wanted to land when they were done with the "kin tour" so it checked a lot of different family and travel boxes.

We did R66 like that. We made it a point to not eat in one chain place. We had an OK guide for "American Diners" along R66 and we hit the famous one's. Otherwise we just drove around little podunk towns looking and or asking where the diner was.

I also bought a cookbook based on my foodie sister's advice called "American Diner Recipes" or something like that. Reading the ingredients on most of the signature dishes makes one want to wash it down with a nitro pill to preclude the heart attack - LOL...

Having lived in the same park for 11 months all the "residents" know I am making an RV pad on my property. Some know I will have two pads. Several have asked in some seriousness if I am interested to let them rent a pad.

"Uhhhh.... I bought 5 acres in rural Florida to get the h3ll away from people, not start a park for homeless RVs..."

In seriousness some of these folks are at the bottom of the social chain and are really struggling. One lady and her son live in a big TT. They don't have a truck to tow it and it is basically melting before their eyes. Neither one is a mechie type and they don't have the bucks to do maintenance.

I just realized the LA stands for Louisiana. These are both fairly local to the Los Angeles Basin. If you ever make it out here, you need to try them out.

BTW, I find this to be a great way to do RVing. Just drive around the country to meet others at various locations we would probably never see otherwise.

I lost count how many I met on this trip. Not just from this forum, but also motorcycle forums and ham radio operators I have never met before.

I've got lots of friends I made around the country on a Harley newsgroup back in the usenet days. Most of us have gotten old and fat and have transferred over to Facebook. A lot of them, I've known for over 20 years and have met face to face many times.
My wife was not a mixer, and I had trouble getting her to events until she'd met a few people. That's why our participation in Quartzsite has been limited. I had hopes for better participation this year, right up to the point where the company offered me a place to stay and a paycheck for the winter.

That's the one. I went by Big Daddy back in those days. Towards the end I just changed to my given name.
Been to the SNIFF party in Jackson, CA, a couple of MITM's in Illinois and the MAMBM party in Martin, TN several times. Les Vandever(OKTR6) and I initiated the Snow Run that happened in Arkansas for 10 years.

Its Hardee's east of the Mississippi and Carl's Jr west of the Mississippi. Same food, same branding except for the name.

I like Chic Fil A, but I have to move around the several in my area or they begin to wonder about me. One store the counter people remembered my name, and I went "been here too much". They do surveys, and you get a free sandwich for doing it. I'll bet I've had a hundred free sandwiches. Had six in one month.

Cannot afford Five Guys any more. The burgers are OK, its the fries that sell the place, but I can get a better burger for the same money at a sit down place.

Burger King is my other go to. Still flame broiled burgers, good fries.

No problem as I need to get myself set up and such. But I will get there earlier as some very heavy winds are coming to this area by around 1100 hrs and in one area just south of here, they will most likely close NV Hwy 580 to RVs as they do often.

I will leave here soon to beat that coming wind.

I agree. We seldom eat out with the exception of good authentic Asian food. I can't seem to master that cuisine.

I'm kind of sour on fast food.. Like to sit down and tip a waiter/waitress.
But Dairy Queen and Taco Bell and occasionally Tim Hortons's would be my big 3 in that order.

AND IN NEW NEWS... Currently to get to DQ I have about a 10-12 mile Round trip
Soon it will be 1 mile each way.
