G'day... this is a new experience... owning a motorhome and introducing ourselves on a forum.

Sheree and I have been together for 45yrs and know it is time to get on the road. We have one precious aging poodle, so being on the road full-time is not an option yet, but gotta get started sometime... NOW! We bought a Mercedes 513CDi with a Winnebago RV build [can sleep 6, but registered to carry 4 people. With 5 grandchildren, there are many adventures ahead.

I am not practical-minded so there is much learning about technical things - electrics, Bluetooth, water etc. Being patient and careful is just SO important.

We've been away 4 times in 6 weeks for short trips and have learned heaps already. Looking forward to many more.

Hope to find some new fellow travellers online... and am very happy to chat to those wanting to try RVing Down Under.

Cheers... Bruce and Sheree [and Cino]

Hi and welcome to the forum. Good to have you join us.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, so please ask anything you need to.

We have a member or two from Oz here although not seen them actively posting recently.

Safe and happy travels.

Welcome! I spent a month down under some 30-odd years ago when I was also in my 30s. My adventures included spending a week re-locating a Britz motorhome from Sydney to Cairns. Found it via an ad in a Backpackers magazine at the airport, the cost was something like $25 plus gas. Saved the company the cost of hiring a driver for the trip.

I enjoyed my visit so much I returned a couple of years later for another month.

Wow, that's too cool, too cool...I pray that you have many amazing adventures and make some treasured memories with the family.

Welcome, mate!

I lived in Oz from like 1969 to 1975. My mum was Australian. I have scads of relatives in Melbourne and Ballarat including 5 brothers and sisters and a bunch of nephews, nieces and cousins. I haven't been back since like 2015 and am dying to head back sometime this year or next.

My brother has a caravan and my wife has never been down under. I am hoping to get a vehicle and tow the caravan from Ballarat to the southern coast and then up to Queensland where I have a niece and a couple of grandnephews. Getting the caravan back to Ballarat is one of the challenges - LOL...
