Its come to mind that there is a shortage and therefore a hike in propane as energy. What do you think. Here is a article I came across about that in 2021-2022. Also the same thing for diesel as engine oil. That one due to the two US companies that make additives to make diesel function are slowing down and likely stopping production this year. That would be chaotic and affect the total supply & economic chainlinks.
Will There Be A Propane Shortage This Winter?
...and this too:

*We have invested in a smaller pellet stove suitable for an RV, for security & cheaper heating.

I didn’t see this stated in the article. But I would be interested to know why they shut down operations. I can say that there are a lot of big trucks on the road and I haven’t seen any truck stops closed for lack of diesel.

Ive been talking to a few truckers lately and all are concerned about dwindling supply.

Your articles are outdated and I'm not sure I'd trust "truck drivers" for economic insight more than anyone else on the street, with no disrespect to truck drivers - I was one, in another career.

Have another look at the articles again above, they are current. This apparently is real and concerning, at least to me. I suggest you do your own research. Latest chatter refers to a sudden shortfall coming in August. If you prefer go to Bloomberg and read theirs on diesel shortage soon..

I did.

This is not current:

Your other article is from later summer/fall 2021 as well. We're now in June 2022.

If you prefer go to Bloomberg and read theirs on diesel shortage soon..I for one wont be caught by surprise so I am all for due diligence. I am perusing the install of a pellet stove as propane is expected to go through the roof by Fall. I think gouging is a big issue by suppliers also.

Why select that article when I supplied 2 others that are more specific and up to date..ie/Spring 2022

One is from April 2022. The "huge diesel shortage may hit markets in weeks" didn't happen, and August is a month away, and a lot of discussion and action on production and distribution has happened in the last two months.

The other is regarding DEF, not diesel.

I've owned a pellet stove; they suck. The price of pellets is highly variable. Buying them by the ton(s) is cheaper and also requires logistical expense. The stoves themselves require constant maintenance and cleaning. My father-in-law uses a pellet stove as his main source of heat, and that was a forced choice because he is no longer physically able to heat with wood (the annual cutting, splitting, stacking, or even finding a cheap supply of logs).

Redundant sources of heat and fuel are all good things, but I caution against scaring anyone into considering any kind of wholesale switch based on fear-mongering about propane (or diesel).

Your assumptions are false as this is an economic reality since the beginning of the pandemic, check Bloomberg as I mentioned. I am not fear mongering but being rationally due diligent, and checking current real costs of energy, going forward. I am not one for knee jerk reactions nor fear mongering but relaying the facts as I find them. Reading economic media sources would be wise in light of supply chain issues now being discussed in real time. The recent pandemic played havoc with oil and gas supply issues in case you arent aware, about which we are now seeing the consequences. The US under Biden shipping oil and gas supplies to the EU as a buffer in light of Russia shutting down its pipeline also plays into shortfall issues. With regard to pellet stoves, I have consumer reports saying that they are a good alternative to oil and gas [propane heating also] and nowhere difficult to maintain although keeping up a good cleaning regimen is necessary, that's true. Our unit will be in use just for the Late Fall-Spring period....as a backup to Propane. Pellet supply/costs can vary so I too would buy in bulk. We are currently buying that way now before the season starts...eliminating surprises down the road.

here is fact:
Global stocks of diesel have fallen to the lowest seasonal level since 2008, due to refinery shutdowns during the start of the pandemic and a rise in demand following the end of heavy restrictions in many countries.Apr 7, 2022

check this as well and drop lying Snopes who are known for disinformation & errors all too often....

Tell us about your username. What does it mean, and how did you come up with it?

both articles are relevant to the issue...btw did you know you cant have diesel for use in an engine without those additives..no additives..no diesel, its that simple. You say you were a truck driver?
