RV Wizard to Google Maps on Android Auto

Has anyone figured out how to do this. I was able to Get a RV Wizard Map downloaded to my Google Maps. And there it sits as a saved map on my Pixel Phone but when I get on Android Auto in Google maps I don't see it! I'm guessing that I would need to somehow make is a favorite?? No idea! Has anyone got a fix for this??

I find getting Android Auto to work for the first time is a big hassle. But I somehow managed to get it to work with my 2022 Chevy Bolt and my 2022 RV. But when it once works, it works well.

But I can never explain what I had to do to get them to work. All types of incompatibility issues. It will not work on all Smartphones, only some.

But I got it to work after hours were spent fooling around with it, on at least one Smartphone each. Fortunately I own several because they also have a use on my electric motorcycles.

I have not yet tried RV Wizard Map, but I will later give it a try.

Trip Wizard syncs directly to the RV Life (Pro) app with RV safe GPS. I encourage you to download the app and login with your Trip Wizard Login credentials. Because you have a Trip Wizard subscription, you are automatically upgrades to the PRO user on the app. Just log in. You'll find a Trip Wizard menu item and will find your planned trips on that menu and can open one to begin navigation.

When using the app, if you haven't already built a trip in Trip Wizard, you can use the GPS function in the app for point to point RV safe routing. Once you've entered your rig info (height, length, weight, etc) you should RV appropriate routing (googles default is car routing)

Thanks for your reply.. I myself am a Google enthusiast but they fall very short on the things where they should shine. My wife has an iPhone and I have a Google Pixel, after 2 hours of trying to get a RV Wizard map on my phone to work, I found out that Google Android Auto does not Support RV Wizard/RV Safe GPS OR any Map that I have downloaded to Google maps From the RV Wizard. But, lo and behold I put the RV Life app on my wife’s phone download log in, open the file, connect to my car and there it is! A real RV GPS! So easy! I’m flying in Orlando this Wed the 27th to pick up a New Thor ACE 27.2 and will be using her phone to navigate back to Rhode Island. If that works well I’m (dare i say) goin back to a xPhone!

I have used RV Trip Wizard for a couple years now but I am new to Android Auto. I was able to get my Trip Wizard maps (RV Friendly) to work in Android Auto. You need to download your trip maps to your phone (google maps). After that connect your phone to Android Auto. When that is active on your car or truck screen - use your phone (not the android auto screen on your car or truck) to open the maps you want to use - this will open them in Android Auto on your car or truck screen. Worked for me. I have a Chevy Silverado with Android Auto installed and my phone is a Pixel 6.

Are you saying once you've downloaded the maps and open the gps in the rvlife app, it will go to android auto? Or is there aomewhere else to open the route from rv life in google maps?

I can't get RV Life appl to work with Android Auto. However, if I download the RV Life route to my r to google maps on my phone, I can make it work. To make it work, you have to open the route on your phone before connecting to the usb cable. Then, when I connect the cable, my downloaded route will load.

Yeah this is the part i can't figure out. Ive downloaded the maps but not seeing where i can download my RV Life rv safe route in google maps. I've been making myself crazy for a week.

Complete instructions on how to export maps from rvtripwizard and the import to Google maps is under the tools section in rvtripwizard. It's a little involved but it worked for me.

I followed them and couldn't get the actual turn by turn directions just an arbitrary line on the map... so weird.

When, you get to the map with the arbitrary black line, touch the map where your final destination is. It should then allow you to select your imported route and navigate.
