I have an older trailer I was told it has a aluminum coating bitumen based .He said he got it from Rona .so I've looked at Ronas products and I think I've found the product he used .it needs to be resealed as it's starting to weather and crack in places .any ideas on what to do next?

I looked into this stuff before and passed. From everything I read about these aluminum coatings is that they do not do what you might think they do with RVs.

I know it alludes to waterproofing but everything I could find out says this stuff DOES NOT waterproof. It’s essentially an anti corrosive, uv protecting restorative paint.

If you want the waterproofing then you need to use the membrane that Resisto makes, that is where you will get water protection.

If you know already then carry on but if not, google a bit about aluminum roof coatings.

Thanks I will look into that I should have posted a picture of the product on the roof .It looks to be about 1/8 thick tar , looks to have a silver shine on it as well not sure if it's the pigment described in the product details in the attachment . I think I will try an scrap it off and go with a popular rubber coating .👍

Can you clean it up well and then put on another coat of the same product?
That's what I was thinking .But if it starts to come off I might try replacing it with a good rubber coating. If not I'll try this Risisto product again .
