That ain't nuttin', I got 24 watches not counting the one on my wrist.
At first glance they all appear to have the correct time (or I suppose all have the wrong time). Apparently you keep them tickin'? Only for display or do they see active duty at times?

They are all set to EST. I wear a different watch every week. All are on active duty.

One of my hosts wears a watch similar to the wood appearing one in the top row of the wooden case. I really like it. I've got an old '60's Accutron with the clear face where you can see the tuning fork. It used to belong to my dad, but when I inquired about getting it restored, I decided not to.
I wear a Seiko similar to the one I bought in Thailand back in the '70's

You're a better man than me. I have like 8 watches - about 5 of them are relatively expensive. I keep them in my safe. Every 5 years or so I take them out and get new batteries in them and then wait 5 more years for them to quit - LOL...

Being retired and having no fancy friends any more I don't have much cause to wear an Omega, Brietling, Seiko or Piaget... Don't get me wrong, none are over $2500 but each one was bought to mark some or another thing.

My favorite watch (was) my Galaxy watch. It did a lot of cool things I liked. I finally killed it by not taking care of it while working on the land and cars and etc. I even bought a great cheap Casio G-Shock specifically to wear while working...

Dumb guy...

I am not a better guy than you or anyone else. Every watch I own cost less then $36.00 and they all keep perfect time. Except I have an expensive Seiko diving watch that I wore during my scuba diving years and an expensive Accutron that I for my 10 years of working for McNamee Electric, it is engraved to me and very special since I loved wiring houses for them. But I never wear it because it is not a practical watch. I also have an old Benrus watch my dad was wearing when he died. All the others are dirt cheap and I love the way they look, very cool.

For a short while we hung around with friends of a friend. One evening over dinner, the FOF guy kept swiping his wrist under my nose and saying "my $xxxx Rolex watch ...". Finally, I swiped my wrist under his nose and said "my $43 Costco watch ..."; Bought it many years ago and only take it off to take a shower.

Oh, the FOF and his wife were a pair of retired shrinks. They were both very short people and wore 4" high-heeled shoes to make them look taller. I found it ironic that a pair of shrinks would be so self-conscious of how they looked, and needed to brag about an expensive watch.

Meanwhile, I'm reminded of my BIL who, in the '60s and '70s, was an amateur watch repairer. One day my $10 Timex windup watch quit working. I never took it off, even to shower. My BIL opened it up and declared "everything is rusty!", and my reply was "that's why I brought it to you to fix". He did, and it lasted for several more years.

There are so many models to choose from these days. I have to be careful that I don't get one with small LCD as I can't read them anymore - LOL...

I think all the geeks (like me) had one of these when they came out.

I was a geek and never has one. I didn't need one since my mind used to be great with numbers. I would go shopping at the grocery store and knew the total price before I got to the checkout. That ended years ago as I slipped into old age and my memory took a beating. Being old isn't for sissies.

Amen brother - I blank on words all the time...

I worked in the Philippines in the 80's - All the expats were buying fake Rolexes. There was a hookup in Taiwan that had really "good" quality Rolexes. You could always tell by the weight and the movement if you knew Rolexes.

My boss told me not to buy one. "It ain't worth getting robbed over a $50 fake watch."

Sure enough I was sitting in a cafe and there was a bus and a guy with his arm hanging out. This dude came up beside the bus and snatched that watch right off his wrist - the damndest thing I ever saw.

I never liked Rolexes...

I don't blank on words anymore. I found out that by taking one vitamin B12 everyday i have improved my memory quite a lot.

Vitamin B12 is involved in the function and development of the brain, nerve cells, the myelin sheaths that protect nerves, and blood cells. Vitamin B12 is sometimes taken to treat memory loss, poor concentration, and Alzheimer’s disease and to boost your mood or energy levels. Deficiencies in B12 can make your body unable to produce the protective myelin and can lead to nerve damage, cognitive problems and memory loss.

I have a collection of dirt cheap watches and if one gets stolen no big deal. Mosr all use the same movement and keep perfect time.

The Seiko diving watch is my only expensive watch but it is 40 years old an doesn't work because it needs a battery and a battery would cost more than any of the other watches.

I saw lots of fake Rolexes during my many years of travelling to the Far East. One time I bought one, knowing it was fake, just to see how long it would last. It made it 2 weeks.

The place in Taiwan was like doing a drug deal you had to know the guy, you went to his apartment, 3rd floor walk up, and then he would open a closet with a fake wall and reveal all the Gucci bags, Fendi scarves etc.

Reportedly his watches had Seiko movements but I could never verify that. A lot of the factory weenies would buy them to impress buddies at the muni golf course. The other popular item was fake Big Berthas. One of our factory guys bought one. Anytime we played with him someone would ask, "Hey Skip. Does that fake Big Bertha hit like a real one," and invariably he'd slice one off.

I do crossword puzzles to keep the brain going. I may try B12 but I am already taking too many pills for my liking - :-(

I might get a good multi-vitamin. I took one for years but somewhere along the way I stopped.

Aye, been to places like that - know/find a guy who'd take you down an alley and up some stairs.

B12 is dirt cheap and very effective. I got results almost immediately.

This all fascinating. I've been in the IT industry for over 35 years. Since before there were laptops and desktops. I learned how to write code on a computer the size of a semi-trailer. In fact, it was mounted in two semi-trailers. In all that time I have probably owned maybe 5 computers that all saw very little use. My current laptop was bought almost 15 years ago, and I think it came with Windows XP. I'm not even sure where it is or when I last used it.

I have a Kindle Fire I use for reading when we are traveling and an iPad for email and internet browsing. With regards to watches, I have an old water-resistant Timex I bought in 1986 when I went into the military and wore that daily until I retired from the military in 2006 at which point, I took it off, stuck it in a drawer and haven't worn a watch since. It took a licking; I can only assume it's still ticking.

I long for the days of the simple flip phone with monochrome screen and simple texting.

On the other hand, if you'd like to talk about my collection of limited-edition bottles of Jack Daniels (all unopened), that is a different story. :)
