Hello, has anyone found a good quality RV disconnect hose that attaches to the 1lbs propane bottles attachment. One like would go to a Weber Q1000 portable grill. Would two regulators make it a poor idea anyway?

Yes, two standard regulators do not play well together. The recommended fix is to remove the Weber regulator if a high pressure connection is not available from your RV. I use a 12' Camco hose that has the correct fitting for the 1 lb male fitting on my grill and a female fitting on the other end that mates with the Extend-A-Stay fitting I installed at our onboard LP tank before the onboard regulator.

I've used the same Camco hose for 15 years and it's no different than other off-the-shelf brands. It's a commodity, just two standard fittings and standard grade propane hose.

Don't try to use two regulators. It probably won't work at all and at best works poorly.

Rather than connecting direct to the RV system, I found it much more convenient to carry a 5 lb LP bottle. It's small, light (about 14 lb total when full), and lets me place the grill anywhere I like rather than adjacent to the coach LP regulator and Tee.

We built a "T" similar to the "Extend-a-Stay" many years ago. It's just a brass "T" with a few extra fittings. It was installed between the permanent tank on a Class C and the Class C's LP regulator. I included a shutoff valve on the "T" leg that we hooked up to the 20LB LP tank or the gas grill. I also built a second valved "T" that attached to the LP tank and allowed us to run a grill AND still be hooked up to the Class C. It was just easier to build what I wanted with basic LP parts than it was to buy it. Putting the "T" between the permanent LP tank and the Class C's regulator meant that we didn't have to bother with removing the regulator that comes on all the types of gas grills we bought. Not having to remove the grill's regulator meant that we could use a little disposable tank if we decided to take the grill off on a picnic, which we often did.
