No. I'm not 😎
I never am.

I will head south for the winter. Not sure exactly when or where to, but it will be south and warm. Salton Sea, CA and then southern AZ, most likely.

I am not even sure which RV to take. I won't know anything until and when I get there, which are both unknowns for now.

It got into the 60s today, brrrrr.
You poor thing. ;)

It will be +14°F/-10°C with a real-feel temp of +10°F/-12°C at 0600hrs in the morning here in Reno. Just about like it was this morning.

It's 43°F/6°C right now at 1500 hrs here in Reno.

Last year at this time I was in ABQ, NM on the way to the nice warm Everglades--for December.

That is as north as you can get in AK.

And here, it shows somebody charging up their EV there in Utqiagvik at the TNHA admin building on Plugshare.

I wonder how it managed to even get there.

It won’t get as cold here this year as it did five years ago. I spent some winters in Idaho with blizzards and -50 weather and the same in Alaska. Northern Japan was famous for blizzards when we were there. When we lived in San Antonio one February was 100 degrees and another we had dangerous ice storms. Weather is very unpredictable. Climate is not.

What years were you there, 1996? Then there is Buffalo NY tonight! They have had 77" and still snowing.

Indeed. I used to live in Aleknagik, AK but that's around 800 miles south of Utqiagvik-- almost tropical!

Overnight temps here down into low 20s and teens overnight. Still a few outdoor projects undone as this latest extended cold front here in the NE stopped me in my tracks.

Ah, the Great Lakes and lake effect snows. Watertown, NY got similar - they are off the end of Lake Ontario. That's just 50 miles south of my S&B (where they got but a 1/2"). We are not there, headed south the 1st of November, for just that reason. They can have it, dealt with it for 65 years.

Don, what are you waiting for? Go for the warm!

I have some appointments here in Reno for the next week or two. I will be free in around two weeks.

To know where I am then, well, you may have to check here. I won't be sure until I get there. But I always get on line from no matter where I am, if possible.

This is the first winter we will be at home in 5 years. We always wintered at Ft. Myers Beach, so there's that; plus our MH is still not repaired, been at the body shop since April.
Oh, this morning the temperature was 19°F, tomorrow morning is forecast to be even lower.
Our new $5,000 furnace is justifying itself.

These almost-record cold temperatures suck! It was only 8 degrees this morning, though luckily not really any wind to make it feel colder. It is supposed to start warming up some today and through the week, but still well below average. Luckily Kevin is doing great after his knee replacement, and we expect to head south right after Christmas. I miss the desert.

Winter is coming my 6 times 3... (As you know 6 is used by hollywood military to mean somethign.. 6*3 however = 18 Degrees.. Official temp here in Davison mi.. I think I saw 16 heading to church. or was it 6 forget which... Temps like this are island temps.. Yup. that famous island No Fun Atol.

I'm ready for winter - I put on long pants and socks as well as a short sleeved shirt this morning. Had to use a blanket (for most of) last night. (Fort Myers, FL)

So, are all those degrees I see being flashed about in this thread; Are those there metric degrees or Imperial? And, could them be Canadian degrees vs. US? Please say everyone miss-typed the leading numeral 'cause those number just ain't right.

Ask me in July when we start using the Scoville scale for temperature and a measuring cup to determine the humidity... that's when our tables will be turned! (That's also when we travel and "get out of Dodge!"

Sending warm thoughts to all...

Here in the Pacific Northwest we've had some frosty evenings and cold, clear days the last 10 days or so. Usually it's dumping buckets of rain, so I'll take it.

Our window of opportunity to shoot down to the desert this next week is looking quite good, actually. Just when things turn to cold/dark/rain up here.
