To follow this line of thought, we just returned from a 3 week long trip to Arkansas, and I was amazed at the number of mid sized solar installations that have popped up there in just the last 4-6 years since we last drove many of those same roads. Arkansas does not strike me as a hotbed of solar farm activity, yet we saw several mid size solar arrays on this trip, drive over a hill or around a curve and suddenly there was a hillside covered with solar panels, ranging from perhaps 2 acres to perhaps 20 acres in size. This was something new, something I have not seen on previous trips, this mid size opportunistic solar installation on a random hillside where most modern solar installations I have seen seem to be done on more massive industrial scale (we have a 200 megawatt, 1,900+ acre solar farm being built about 10 miles south of my house in western Louisiana).
