Well, if the weather clears and it stops snowing this is what that balloon will see if they zero in on my driveway.

Just sayin.

Well it’s down. Hope they can retrieve it and hope the salt water doesn’t hurt the contents.

I was watching the news in real time when it got shot. It was a perfect picture and it appeared real close. But as it was falling, it was getting further and further away to a point where we couldn’t see it anymore. I would have thought it would have gotten bigger as it was falling, maybe the wind was moving it.

Hilarious - the horse is already waaaay out of the barn and NOW we shut the door.

If it was a spy, then it already sent the data back home...

I have no idea. I have never been to any other galaxies. Nor do I care.
Dude, I'm just trying to figure out what your thinking is. Do you think extra terrestrial life exists or not? Obivously not in our galaxy but in other galaxies? No need to be defensive.

Well, I'm not so sure about "aliens" from outer space, but I do feel there are UFOs. UFO simply means "Unidentified" flying object. I only saw one "unidentified" object flying in the sky. I was about 10 years old with my dad. We couldn't figure out what it was. It WAS weird. So, since it was never "identified" it remains "UNidentified.".... thus a UFO. Not all UFO's are from another galaxies! Now ... there ARE some people walking this earth that I swear ARE from another "galaxy"! YouTube videos show lots and lots of them at Wall Marts!

Just an FYI.... "Project Bluebook" on the History Channel, the 2 season series about he US government program "Project Bluebook" is really a pretty interesting show. I'm surprised it hasn't taken any sides yet on the questions, does life exist on other planets and are there space aliens walking the planet.

Project BlueBook was a government orginization that's sole purpose was to defunk people who had encounters with UFO's, abductions, animal mutilations, even crop circles and more. In every episode, it leaves the viewer scratching their head asking the question, "so did those folks actually have an encounter or not?" or? Was it really a government coverup? or, was it really the Russians? They present the event and the "facts" are brought out and then it shows how the government (Project BlueBook) defunked, discredited, and covered up every encounter. Which side is telling the truth? The show doesn't give an answer. Which, this, really surprises me for being a very "liberal" media outlet.

For every episode, I've been following along with different internet web sites about these different events that give a history and some kind of synopsis how the event evolved, raised to national notariety and then defunked. Amazingly, the show is pretty true to the historical, documented facts.... such as Wikipedia, and other sites that have historical information.

Aliens are not something I think about or care about. There is absolutely no proof of aliens on Earth much less landing in Roswell or any other place. Too many people seem to think that Star Wars and Star Trek are documentaries instead of science fiction.

I would tend to agree with you about aliens on Earth, but I'm still open to alien life elsewhere. You obviously have thought about it since you made the statement that there are no aliens on Earth or in our galaxy. I was just trying to understand your position a bit better.

It's not only important to understand what you think, but also why you think it.

There are no aliens on Earth. That is hogwash.
You must not have a sense of humor. Aliens can have different meanings. Next time you have a chance to go into one of the biggest combination big box stores or just sit on the parking lot, many of those aliens do not exist in any community I have ever lived in or any campground I have ever stayed in either. They are from a different world. And I have traveled extensively too,.

i have never seen or heard the slightest bit of proof of an aliens existence. The only thing I hear is that the government is covering up all the evidence of what happened in Roswell in 1947. I need physical proof before I believe in something. I spent a few days in Roswell about 15 years ago. The street lights are cool, they are shaped like an aliens head. The local Walmart has a whole section devoted to Roswell alien merchandise including Area 51 beach towels. Of course Area 51 is located two states away and has nothing to do with Roswell. I feel the same way about religion.. No proof of anything so I don't believe in anything they say about god and all the rest.

In order for aliens to be on Earth they would have to travel from Alpha Centauri which is 4.4 light years from Earth.

Alpha Centauri is 4.4 light-years away, or nearly 40 trillion kilometers. The fastest spacecraft so far launched into space, the NASA-Germany Helios probes, traveled at 250,000 kilometers per hour. At that speed, it would take the probes 18,000 years to reach the nearest star to the sun.

That is the closest star that could have a planet that contains life. Not only is it prohibitively to far away for any alien to reach us they would have to tell me why it came here and how come it chose to come here.

Last night on tv they were talking to a retired general and he said one of our fighter jets with a 50 caliber, he could go up and fire one or two shots and the balloon with slowly leak and come down to earth

I am also amazed that in today's world almost everyone is carrying a close to professional camera in their pocket and there are billions of images shot every single day but never have we seen a legitimate photo of an alien or of a "ufo".

Won’t it be embarrassing for someone if it turns out to be just a weather balloon!!!! If it is a weather balloon, it will probably never be found if you know what I mean.
