Probably as real as this...

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
In this case, there is no "probably." It's BS and I am fairly sure Elon had nothing to do with it. Not much doubt that Elon is a genius and wouldn't go for such obvious nonsense.

The photo must be faked. And I do not believe anything I read or see there.

Don, I read a few paragraphs, not the entire thing. Obviously fake. The font is not the one Forbes uses, and anyone who thinks Musk did something for the sake of one of his employees is totally unaware of the numerous lawsuits his employees have filed (and won) against him.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for what’s coming. AI can right now hack your phone contacts list, identify and imitate the voice of a close relative and just as Alan Turing predicted 80 years ago in the imitation game, you won’t be able to tell the difference. In the near future you won’t be able to distinguish what’s real from what’s fake.

I can only find 1 who has won $10,000 so far.

I'm sure he's not perfect but from things I see his big picture is about doing good. Others will have different opinions I'm sure.

Stupid or smart.. You know how many all day Suckers there are out there who will flood his coffers with their hard earned cash. (It might even save them oh say 9% on their power bill)
I did notice the key words however "Fox News - It's no secret that residents in overpay for electricity because the power companies have a monopoly over them. "

Fox News.

Speaking of all day suckers, we’re in a State Park with no Wi-Fi and access to only OTA channels. We’re outside all day anyway, so no big deal however as I was watching the GRIT channel last night I commented to the DW that not one commercial advertisement on there was aimed for anyone with walking around sense. There was an ad for a bottle of anti-inflammatory tablets with oil extracted from a New Zealand mollusk for only $40.00, a new My Hose, a 25 ft. bladder type water hose that the guy swears he just invented and only costs about half again what one costs on Amazon, a call center mock up for a personal injury law firm, ad infintum. As incredible as it seems, someone must be buying that junk.

All I can say is, and this is from personal experience, if you purchase the tablets or the hose and are somehow damaged by either product don’t call that personal injury law firm (known professionally as Dewey, Cheatum and Howe). They will steal your money. 😎

The future is here. Things the media said were real have been found to be fake. Things they said were fake have been found to be real, examples in the last few days.
Hopefully, this inability to discern fact from fiction will destroy the whole electronic media industry, or at least lead to more critical examination of "news" sources, similar to the critique of this advertisement.

Those types of ads are "per inquiry", instead of paying a flat rate for the air time the station gets paid on a commission basis when someone in their viewing area goes online or calls the toll-free number. They're generally used to fill unsold advertising slots.

OK. I call BS on that.

To me it's an obvious fake. The top of the page says Forbes, but the web address is "hotnews-blog.com". Clearly a fake.

Yeah, I also noticed that. If the Forbes part is faked, we can bet the Elon photo is also.

I wonder how many suckers they find.

I also wonder what is in that little box, if anything.

Yeah! Fox finally got what they deserve!

Elon is a genius and wouldn't go for such obvious nonsense.

He's really not. None of his products are his, and if you read the scuffle about how he became a "Founder" of Tesla, you'll realize his title as co-founder is actually purchased. Like all of "his" ideas.

Some see Musk as a strategic leader. He's a guy with money, no doubt, but he's about one more menty-b away from being ousted from some of his companies.

Oh, this thread is going places :D

Oddly enough 60 minutes did a piece last night on the Grandparents Scam. Your grandson or daughter calls and says they're in some kind of trouble, they can't tell the parents but they need x amount of dollars right away so this attorney a friend recommended can keep them out of jail. They then put the attorney on and he arranges to have a courier come by and pick up the cash. The attorney also tells you to tell the bank you're withdrawing the cash for a car repair, so the bank won't think you've fallen victim to a scam. The particular scam on which they reported originated in the Bahamas. So how did they know who the grandchild was, how to mimic their voice exactly and who the grandparents are and which phone numbers to call? To demonstrate how effective it is, the expert explaining it all told the corresondent they's set her assistant up. In a matter of minutes she used AI to call the assistant and with an AI generated voice mimicking her boss told the assistant she was in a hurry and needed her passport number. The assistant looked it up and rattled it right off to the bot.
