Light weight trailer brands. Trail Cruiser?

I am looking for a used trailer that is easy for me to tow with my Chevy Express Van 1500 AWD 5.3 liter, 6200 lbs. tow capacity.  My 22 foot Dutchman "lite" says 4060 lbs. Dry weight.  I can cruise at 60 on a good day, but would like to go at least 500 lbs. lighter.  What brands have light...

    holding tank leaks

I have a 22 foot Dutchmen lite from 2000.  The grey-water tank is leaking on the bottom, I can see and access the leak easily.  The tank is some type of plastic.  I am pretty handy, can i fix this myself?  Is it repairable, or should I replace the tank? Thanks! Doug

    propane water heater broken?

It's working now.  I ended up getting the burner to light before the pilot.  This happens during the season at times as well.  I had tried that yesterday without success.  Maybe it just took a while for the propane to get all the way to the back of the trailer after the winter?  My unit is a...

    propane water heater broken?

I am de-winterizing my trailer, and I can't get the water heater to light.  The trailer is 8 years old, I bought it used two years ago.  The propane stove works, the heat works.  It doesn't seem to be getting any fuel to the water heater, because even if I turn the knob to "pilot" or "on" no...

    towing with Chevy Express Van

Gary, I will weigh everything when I get a chance.  We camped this weekend.  We loaded up with water, propone, food, wife, two little kids etc. and it towed fairly well, not as bad as I thought it would.  I will have to keep the speed down to about 60 on the flats to keep it from seeking, and...

    fiberglass siding better than Aluminum?

Is Fiberglass siding better than Aluminum?  So far, I have been told it is easier to clean, easier to repair, and looks nicer.  Is that all? Is it lighter? Are there different types of smooth siding, and is it all "fiberglass"?

Is Air Conditioning necessary in Northwest?

Thanks for all the input.  The reason I ask is that I was looking at the Rainier trailers, specially made for Poulsbo RV by Dutchman.  They look like a good value, and come without AC.  At least the small one does.  That is the only one I have seen without AC.

Is Air Conditioning necessary in Northwest?

I am shopping for a 22-26 foot travel trailer, our first, and i was wondering how necessary AC is in Washington and Oregon.? We plan on travelling mostly to the coast, but sometimes to warmer areas.? I never needed it in the past, with tents, pickup canopies, and Vans. And how much does it...
