Best time to visit Utah National Parks?

We are planning a trip to Utah in 2023, probably spring/summer. Coming across I-70 through Missouri and Kansas to Colorado, hope to stay in Dead Horse Point near Moab as our base for most of the national parks, then head down to Zion and Grand Canyon before heading back to TN. We would...

Looking for points of interest along this route

Agree with all the recommendations for MI - Greenfield Village, Henry Ford Museum, Mackinaw Island, White Fish Point are all good!

Decent Park in CT or The Hudson Valley NY

we camped at Croton on Hudson a few years ago. Nice campground, bonus is the train into Grand Central Station is almost within walking distance, about a 90 minute ride into the city.

Blackwater Falls State Park Davis, WV

We went to Blackwater Falls last summer - camped at Canaan Valley, which is just a few miles down the road from BW. These are gorgeous parks! Would love to go back. The trail to the falls is only about 1/4 mile, easy for disabled and puts you out right at the falls. Good luck on your trip.

toll roads in OK & KS

Thanks for all the great advice! Think we will get the PikePass, as we've got quite a list to try to fit in 4 weeks. We will watch out for the roads also (but TN we think is the south east repository for orange barrels...we have 'em all over the place, so have a lot of experience with roads...

toll roads in OK & KS

Hi, we're planning a trip from TN next summer which will include AR, OK with stops near Tulsa and OK City, Wichita KS and Kansas City. How are the turnpikes - fees? any recommended work arounds or just plan for the tolls. We're staying mostly in state parks, hoping to see museums, memorials and...

camping in Koreshan state park in FL

Thanks so much for the comments and suggestion about the Tamiami Trail. COVID caused us to postpone the trip this summer. We will try again in late fall. Hope that things have simmered down somewhat by then.

If you are a AAA member, their website is very helpful IMO in planning. You can put in some filters. Good luck, hope you have great adventures.

camping in Koreshan state park in FL

Sincere thanks to all of you. She was a little skittish, but now looking forward to the trip. We will be coming down the gulf side stopping at Manatee springs, then crossing over to head up the Atlantic side, with a stop at Sebastian inlet and Crooked River on the way to SC. Hope the campgrounds...

    Mackinaw island

we stayed at a campground in Mackinaw City that had a view of the Mackinaw bridge - pretty crowded and not a lot of space between sites, but very close! We did the "high tea" at the grand hotel, cost about $50 per person, but had everything under the sun. Grounds are beautiful, if you want to...

camping in Koreshan state park in FL

ok, we have been camping with a 24'TT ever since we married almost 13 years ago,(on our fourth one now) and this may be the most ridiculous question ever posted here...The family we are going to be visiting who live in Bonita Springs, made noises about "critters"  in the park that might decide...

    Statue of Liberty

We stayed at Croton Point last summer, would echo Happy Wanderer that this is an excellent county park very close to the train (about a 90 minute run into Grand Central) pretty and convenient. Don't miss the 911 memorial, recommend getting tickets on line ahead of time, the Occulus is amazing.

Looking for the perfect spot in VA

we have stayed at a number of VA state parks over the years and found them to be beautiful, well run & clean. We  don't do the breweries, but I'm sure you can see if Shenandoh River, Dothan & Fairy Stone among others are near enough to satisfy. Have fun!
