RV Furnace Startup - Atwood 8525-IV DCLP - Ignitor Lockout Fault

The replacement ignitor arrived USPS from Panther RV yesterday and it warmed up enough today to install it. After verifying the 1/8" electrode gap and adjusting the elevation to 1/4" above the burner screen, the furnace started on first try! Thanks again for your suggestions, Kirk, and nice RV...

RV Furnace Startup - Atwood 8525-IV DCLP - Ignitor Lockout Fault

Thanks for filling in the blanks, Kirk. Your feedback is very helpful. I ordered a replacement ignitor (MC Enterprise 34570MC Aftermarket Dometic Hydroflame RV Furnace Igniter Electrode) from Panther RV Products (Panther RV Products) that had the ignitor and high tension cable for sale at...

RV Furnace Startup - Atwood 8525-IV DCLP - Ignitor Lockout Fault

Thanks for the suggestions, Old_Crow and Kirk, some very good ideas for me to check out. I already downloaded and read the service manual, but did not pick up on the idea that the high tension lead to the ignitor also returns a flame sense signal to the control board. Maybe corrosion around...

RV Furnace Startup - Atwood 8525-IV DCLP - Ignitor Lockout Fault

I spent this weekend researching RV Furnace repair in order to get heat from the Atwood 8525-IV DCLP furnace in my 2004 Trail Lite 235S. I thought I had it figured out, but apparently not quite yet. From the information below, if anyone has an idea for what the next step should be, please let me...

Roof structure info for installing roof rack: R-Vision Trail Lite 235s B+

I previously posted about this (http://www.rvforum.net/SMF_forum/index.php/topic,115228.msg1041629.html#msg1041629) but received no responses.  Since then, I have obtained crossbars for the proposed roof rack and researched more about non-structural roof components, but am reluctant to begin...

R-Vision Trail Lite 235s roof structure / schematic for kayak rack anchor

Does anyone have links to a shop or service manual for the R-Vision Trail Lite 235s that shows the roof structural members?  I am trying to design a roll-off kayak rack using garage door track and need to locate the strongest anchor points. Alternatively, if you have addressed rooftop stowage...

Dometic Duo Therm air conditioner does not cool / How to ID model?

Here's an update on what I learned from Dometic and others: My A/C unit is an older 13,500 BTU Penguin II and from the symptoms I described (compressor runs under thermostat control but blows only warm air) the Dometic customer service diagnosis is low or no refrigerant.  As this unit is not...

Dometic Duo Therm air conditioner does not cool / How to ID model?

I'll be sure to check out the capacitors before writing any $$$ checks. Thanks for the advice, robertusa123.

Dometic Duo Therm air conditioner does not cool / How to ID model?

So robertusa123, when you say "If the top is sweed it's bad", do you mean "If the top is swelled it's bad"? It's difficult to tell from the pictures, but thanks again for the help.    -Brian

Dometic Duo Therm air conditioner does not cool / How to ID model?

Thanks for the heads-up robertusa123.  I'll check before replacing the entire unit, but if the capacitor is bad wouldn't the compressor fail to start?  My AC compressor sounds like it is starting when actuated by the thermostat, but only blows ambient temperature air.

Dometic Duo Therm air conditioner does not cool / How to ID model?

Following your suggestions, Marsha, I contacted Dometic with the model number (600315321) and they suggested replacement of the entire upper unit with a model 640315CXX1C0, which I surmise is a 13,500 BTU Penguin II unit. My internet search for replacement Dometic ACs reveals at least two...

Dometic Duo Therm air conditioner does not cool / How to ID model?

Hello all. The rooftop AC on my 2004 R-Vision Trail Lite 235S does not cool (DeltaT=0). When the thermostat is in Auto mode, the compressor and fan engage when the temperature reaches the set point, but the discharged air is room temperature.  I inspected and cleaned the interior foam filter...

Fiberglass gel-coat body repair - Cracked rear corner cap on 2004 Trail Lite B+

Hi Cmpqn - No, I have not fixed it yet.  I investigated buying an end-cap from Sierra Engineering ([email protected]) but they wanted $1400 (plus S&H) for custom fabrication since they did not have the panel in stock.  I think I may try foaming the inside for structural support...

Fiberglass gel-coat body repair - Cracked rear corner cap on 2004 Trail Lite B+

My 2004 R-Vision Trail Lite 235 B+ RV had a little altercation with a tree next to its parking space, unquestionably attributable to pilot error and deteriorating eyesight. I think the damaged part is called a rear corner cap and it appears to be a molded fiberglass gel-coat body part which is...
