Midland compact air dryer, 93 vectra 5.9DP

Thanks Ron, it surprised me.  Many Freightliner/Peterbuilt and Spartan places had a hard time with it.

Geez....call Haldex and go nowhere, called NAPA and they have it!  Subject closed  :)

Midland compact air dryer, 93 vectra 5.9DP

I am having the hardest time getting this part for my air over hydraulic brakes.  I would like to change the air dryer  and rebuild the kit. The part number is RN60J, made Haldex/Midland.  The company iteself only does wholesale to vendors, so that attempt was futile.  Any suggestions?

    Filters and parts

Steve, Ron, Bernie, you have answered my questions.  Spartan it will be with VIN # in hand.  I will tell them I just want every filter, including tranny filters, and all of them times two.  I don't worry as much about saving a few bucks as I do getting the right stuff and a quality product. ...

    Filters and parts

As always, 1.5 minutes after I post, a reply from Ron.  Thanks Ron.  When I call Spartan or Cummins, will stating:  5.9 230 Turbo Cummins on a Spartan chassis be sufficient to get all the filters?

    Filters and parts

I haven't tried, waiting to be in a better mood for this one.  I wonder what will happen if I walk into a NAPA store and tell them that I have a 5.9 Cummins turbo and I need both fuel filters ??? I have tried their website and the following numbers given to me by a fellow Vectra DP owner: Air...

    Idle speed

thanks John, she starts like a charm, cold, first crank, always, she can sit and idle for hours.  It's just (sometimes, not always) that I put her in gear that she dies.  If I get on the accelerator pedal quick enough she'll go and no stalling thereafter.  Judging by the plume of black smoke...

    Idle speed

Bernie, thanks.  Now I wished I had a working cruise control.  These were the things I discovered on my recent run, eratic speedometer and cruise failing to engage.  By the way, I am currently stationed in Castaic off Parker road.  Noticed you are in Valencia.

    Idle speed

Hey Friends, on a 5.9 turbo Cummins Mine idles at ~680 RPM.  Should it be higher?  How could I raise the idle if I had to?  Reason for asking is that sometimes when I press from neutral to either reverse or drive, she stalls.  Once I move three feet she is fine ands doesn't do it again.

I'll be on the lookout for your Rig Bernie.  Beer is on me if I can see the inside and climb under her to look at the engine and tranny  ;D

Great Bernie, we are usually camped near Furnace Creek, I forgot the name of the site.  Will be hard to miss the Vectra though :-)

Thanks for the beta Greg.  Would love to see your rig.  I know that by October I will be out at the '49er meeting in Death Valley.  My parents will visit from Germany and that is where they always go, except this time sans tent but in comfort.  After the end of September I will have some time to...

Thanks Tom, what a blast to be fully self contained and comfortable in a 100 degrees.  But even just driving is so much fun.  I had a hard time stopping at times, I could have just gone on and on, listening to the diesel purr away.  It seemed that the more I drove, the better she ran.
