We are looking into a Canada Visit

As some have mentioned, the Banff/Jasper highway is a great drive. Lots of potential to see wild life in the Jasper area. There is also Lake Louise and Moraine Lake (far nicer than Lake Louise in my opinion). Word of warning, try to avoid these areas in July and August. They are crawling with...

If this doesn't scare you off of buying a new RV, nothing will.

    Jack Placement

More grist for the mill. These "Trailer Legs" are for lifting your trailer off the ground to preserve bearing and tire life when it's stored for a long period of time i.e. over the winter. Lo and behold, they are mounted right on the axles.

    Jack Placement

    Yes, what Gary said.

    Jack Placement

Agreed. I think I will just get an axle saddle for my bottle jack and place it near the U-bolt and not worry about it.

    Jack Placement

Yep, it says put it on the frame. This is why I ask the question, as many don't follow this recommendation as is evident from the numerous videos online. At the same time, other videos say never put it on the axle as it leaves the risk of damaging the axle.

    Jack Placement

I'm probably opening a can of worms here, but I'm going to ask anyway. Where do you place your jack when you need to change a tire? Several sites online say never put it under the axle and only on the frame. Yet there are a multitude of videos out there showing this exact thing being done, right...

This is me and I approve my message

I think you mean in order to run a country like this, you apparently have to be closest to death!

    Good Explanation!

Agreed. If you're filling at elevation and staying at elevation, then no worries.

    Good Explanation!

That's pretty much what he was saying in his video. I guess I should have refrained from using his title for this thread. I had no idea so many people would get their panties in a knot over it. I just thought it was a clear and concise explanation. I will still use the octane level as...

    Good Explanation!

I'm not saying don't use 85 octane and neither is the video author. He's not saying it will harm your car either at elevation. He's just reiterating what the US Department of Energy is saying. I liked his explanation on why and where it is used.

    Good Explanation!

Hahaha! I guess I don't get as high as you, Dan. Only to the 5300 foot elevation level. No 85 octane here.

    Good Explanation!

Great explanation on octane levels. I guess I haven't travelled high enough into the mountains as I didn't know 85 octane fuel even existed. In my area, 89 sometimes isn't available, just 87 and 91 as the only options. Note: he doesn't actually believe you should never use 85 octane in your car.

    Wheel Base

It's pretty impressive though how he takes it through that slalom course and it remains totally stable!
