"4 Season" RV - definitely not the Jayco Pinnacle

Hi there. I'm doing a little winter living in a Jayco Pinnacle while my home is undergoing a major renovation. Event though it has the "Polar Barrier" for "Four-season camping with Jayco," it's been less than impressive. I've put insulation underneath (came out of the house from the renovation...

Best route in Nova Scotia from Baddeck to Cape Breton

As someone who lives in Cape Breton, I can say you've received some great advice. Add a stop at the Farmer's Daughter Country Market in Whycocomagh. It's about halfway between the Causeway and Baddeck; the baked goods are awesome and there's good variety in their menu. There's a convenient camp...

    Price of propane.

Have you tried Costco? In Canada, they're normally the least expensive. Looking at the other replies, it looks like propane is quite expensive in the US compared to your northern neighbors. I'm living in a Jayco Pinnacle during a major renovation on my home, and I had two 800 lb tanks installed...

    Cold weather atv problems

Hi, I'm a new owner of an ATV, an Arctic Cat 550i. It's 5 years old with less than 200 km's on it. We have some fairly cold weather here in Cape Breton lately. I didn't have any problems with the ATV yesterday when I was clearing snow in -1 Celsius weather, but when I started it this afternoon...

    No hot water in bathroom

The warm spell came and I sorted out my Black water tank: It was never properly cleaned out after past use. Now that we have another cold spell, I lost water to my bathroom sink and shower again. This "Pinnacle" has a fairly poor "arctic package." Any recommendations from the winter campers out...

    preventing pipes from freezing.

Like Tom said, the low temperature and the duration are the primary factors. If you're going to have prolonged cold and aren't using the camper, use pipe antifreeze (environmentally friendly) is the best way to go. If you're winter camping, it gets a lot more complex.

    No hot water in bathroom

And, it's frozen again. From what I can see, the pipes for the shower and bathroom sink are run right against the outer  wall of the camper. Not good with it being the windward side and freezing temperatures. I have a space heater blowing air in through the access port, but no luck getting hot...

    No hot water in bathroom

I just solve the problem by playing with my filling valves (two selector knobs where the first one has positions 1, 2, and 3 and the second one 4,5, and 6. Just by moving them around it solved the problem. I wish this thing came with a plumbing diagram. While I was trouble-shooting, I opened...

    No hot water in bathroom

Hi. I'm winter camping in one place and we recently had quite the cold spell while I was away for a few days: sustained temps well below freezing for multiple days. Issue: I have hot water available in the kitchen only, and cold water available everywhere. No hot water is coming out in the...
