Is Anyone Happy With Their New Class C?

The rule of thumb is to NEVER buy NEW anything RV. from a $10,000TT to $1.5 million Class A. The industy suffers and always has and will suffer quality control issues. I will keep my 2008 31M Tioga for at least another 6 or 7 years as its is set up and operating at the highest level way more so...

How do you weigh your RV?

thats what I used, a CAT scale at new local truck stop and then after that I knew a problem and cost me a couple grand to upsize tires but still would be a ticket if ever roadside scale check is done, I know for a fact the RV came from the factory over the GVWR as NO improvements were done by...

How long can I reasonably expect to stay in the active RV game?

I am 68 and been RVing for 6 years and I been surrounded with RVers well into the 70's and early 80s. Goes back to being fit enough for all the work of a RV

Life expectancy of house and chassis batteries in a DP

if lead acid, 3-5 years at best and you have to stay on top with keeping them charged and the fluid level maintained. Gel cell types will last in a similar range but no issue with fluids.

PDF Owners Manual for 1988 Fleetwood Terry Resort

good luck but the manuals put out are generic and have little detail on anything. At least in my experience, the real info on the actual RV is contained in shop drawings and those a rare to find

    Wiring and plumbing diagrams

you need what is known as the shop drawings and highly unlikely to find/ I tried years ago with my 2008 Tioga and had no luck. Wishing you some luck

    Leaving batteries in the cold

    - the key thing? You are keeping the batteries charged. BUT YOU NEED to keep on eye on the fluid level unless you got cell caps that capture the vapor and retains it in the cell.

    repairs

often takes months for repairs, especially with dealerships even when the times are "normal"

    Rv resorts/campgrounds

m the issue would be finding ones that have openings. If you plan on doing the trip during high season, you need to reserve a year ahead in many cases. Though some may have open sites for a few days

How many days dry camping for family of 6?

If this is actual first time in an RV and camping, its not the way I would recommend to start your experience as it could turn pretty ugly quickly. Water and holding tanks will be an issue if you are in area with no dump station or potable water to refill. Then power. Not having electric and...

A shiny motorhome, whats the Trick to fading restoration?

All my decals on my 2008 Class C need attention so I am going to air brush them back to "new" this coming spring. Painters tape and masking paper is cheap and so is my time. I just need the weather to cooperate when the time comes. I'll be finding color matching paint over winter.
