    Class A tires

I like the Sumitomo's in the dry but in heavy rain they have a tendency to slide, a couple of scary moments at about 40 mph on twisty country road in heavy rain, and no grip getting out of a campground in snow. I have been considering the 255/70 Toyo (at almost half the price) but I didn't want...

    Class A tires

The Ironman tires are made in China for Cooper / Hurcules, they have a terrible reputation, almost as bad as Michelins.

    Class A tires

The 6 Sumitomo tires on my Class A are now almost 10 years old, still plenty of tread but the sidewalls are starting to crack so I'm in the process of finding new. The Sumitomo's have been good tires, although not so good in rain or snow with no real sipes to direct water away, just the four...

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Thanks for the info on the Xantrex 458 Gary, I was not up to speed on what it actually did, and still not to some extent. The coach has solar panels on the roof that I figured were just for charging the battery pack, and the Xantrex remote inside the coach has the green led charging light on all...

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Your right Bill, and I will look into a Surge Guard. Thanks.

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

That's very true, thanks for pointing that out.

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Thanks for that Bill, I use a similar product on aluminum engine parts. I would be very annoyed if the A/C unit needed replacement, with only 50k miles on the coach, 600 hours on the gen and obviously been kept inside when parked as everything on the coach has been very well maintained.

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Thanks Kev, my main reason for asking is that, as we were heading out for our last trip (November) it was raining hard and the wind was very bad, we lost part of the cover of the front A/C, I headed into town to our local RV dealer who had 2 covers in stock but the rain was coming in badly from...

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

I just purchased the coach last year, got one 5000 mile trip done and then this Covid thing hit. I have only been on the roof to check things out and to replace both of the A/C covers that were cracked, I didn't check the condenser coils but that will be my next step. I have the coach parked in...

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Thanks for defining that, I thought you meant a standard residential 50 amp 240v connector, yes my RV 50 amp is wired right, thanks.

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Thanks for the info Kev. So you use a garden hose to clean the fins, does water enter the RV doing that? Then you spray through the fins from the inside out, surely not from the inside of the coach? Sorry if this seems dumb, just trying to visualize how you are going about it.

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Ok, it is very hot here right now, 105 degrees, so maybe the condenser is dirty and overheating. I have not cleaned the condenser coils since I bought the coach last year, I will take a look at that. Thanks. PS; What is the best way to clean the coils? (not an AC expert)

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

The coach is plugged into a 50 amp 120v shore power RV box. 240v would fry everything in the coach! The rear AC (AC-2) is the one that trips, I have had both run for up to an hour before AC-2 trips so it's obviously not the compressor surge doing it.

AC limit with 50 amp shore power

Hi, I have a 2005 National RV TropiCal 40' DP, I purchased this motorhome last year, has 50k miles and in amazing condition. My problem is with the electrics on this thing, it has 2 roof AC units but one will flip the breaker (inside the coach, breakers for AC-1 and AC-2). The coach has been...
