Who makes, and stands behind, the best trailer?

We've had five RV's in the past twenty years.  We purchased all new. Our first was a little '96 Coleman pop-up.  We only kept it a couple of years because we decided to move up.  No problems at all with it. We moved up to a '98 Itasca Spirit Class C.  The only problem we had with it was...

    Seeing behind your trailel trailer?

I've hated not knowing if someone is tailgating me on the Interstate and try to pop around just as I try to change lanes.  I didn't, however, want to run cables from the trailer to my truck to put in a rear view camera. I recently found this...

    Ford V10

I bought one of the first ones in 1997.  It was a new '98 class-C and we put 45,000 miles on it.  I think we averaged around 10 MPG and never had a single problem. We traded it for a new 2001 Class-A with the same motor and put 35,000 on it, trouble free.  Great motor!

    USA map decals

I always smile when I see one with Arkansas and New Mexico stickers but no Oklahoma, Kansas or Texas.  How did they do that?  LOL! And now you just might see the Washington and Colorado stickers a bit sideways or out of the boundaries.  OK, had to add that.  I just got through laughing through...

    Looking at a hybrid

We have a StarCraft as well and love it!  We got the Travel Star 207rb.  The bunks are easy, easy, easy, down and back up.  And the 2014 Travel Star has a two year warranty and the canvass even longer. Oh, and if you don't mind a drive, we ordered ours through littlecampersdirect and saved...

    Cute Little Red Scooters

Several manufacturers make trays that go into your receiver hitch.  Blue Ox for one. I believe it'd be large enough for both your scooters and you could put a cover over them. Just a thought.

Living in RV for extended period of time

Hello, We're living full time, for three months now, in a Hitchhiker (Champagne) 38' Fifth Wheel.  We purchased it new and have had no problems at all with anything. It's warranty does cover for full timing! It was one of the more expensive ones we looked at but we're glad we stepped up...

Merits of roof or basement air ?

Our Hitchhiker has built in rain gutters that really do work well.  The only place we have any black streak is on the very back. We've only owned, and lived full time in, ours for a few months now but have had no (0) trouble with anything.

New (but 3 yrs old) RV Sitting on Dealer's Lot

This is a very good brand from all the research I did before buying the one I did recently. Now I'm pretty sure there's at least 25% to 30% mark-up on it and the dealer might not want to take much of a loss.  But, he sure doesn't need to make any profit either. I'd look at NADA retail on a...

    Monaco Knight

Tom, you're probably right but we did have a very bad experience with Monaco. We purchased a 2001 Monarch new and never made a trip in the four years we owned it without a problem that made us enjoy the trip less. Now it could be that we had the less expensive Monaco but it's the same company...

    Lube Pads for 5th Wheel?

I haven't towed my new Fifth Wheel yet but already have a question. We just had a Reese 20K hitch installed and didn't get an owner's manual.  I'm pretty surprised and am in the process of trying to get one. I read where you can use a 'lube pad' instead of greasing up the plate.  They seem to...

"Flattest" route from Mid-Atlantic to Grand Canyon area

I agree with Carl about the stops on the way.  And I completely agree with taking I-40. One place I'd like to mention though is Amarillo, Texas.  If you're planning on spending a night, or two, in that area then consider Palo Duro Canyon State Park just south of Amarillo. You'll think I lied...

    Looking for GPS recommendations

We've been using a laptop with the delorme software for years.  My wife is really happy with it but I, when driving, find it not very easy to see or operate. It's not that expensive and the street maps are very good for every single little road in the country. Now, I personally, would love to...

Upgrading our fifth wheel...need advice please!

We just recently purchased a Hitchhiker and are really pleased with it. Now ours is probably much larger than you need but they do make smaller ones too.

    Fresh Water Tank

Now I don't know if I'm doing it right or not, but we live in hurricane country. I like to know we'll have plenty of water if we lose the local source so I fill the frest water tank the first of every month along with checking batteries and other maintenance. Then, at the end of the month, I...
