    Same as $17 Per Gallon?

Mods: why do you allow an rv and camping related forum to devolve into this mindless political bickering on a continually basis? I'm so tired of the divisiveness in the world in general that I can't stand to see it seep into this space as well.

Pineapple life style in an R.V.?

I have a cabin on a private lake and there's about 50 lots around it. Recently this fall as I was driving in I saw an upside down pineapple flag that said "plays well with others" hanging next to one cabins fire number. I think someone bought it as a joke as I can't believe the couple who own...

    Travel Grill V Griddle

I've been using the coleman road trip grill for years. It's the model that can be placed on a picnic table, or you can use it on the include folding bbq cart. It came with two grill inserts, one ribbed for grilling, the other side smooth for griddle work, I also bought the full size griddle that...

Advice needed on lite RVs for a family of 4!

I think you're totally discounting the pop up. As a kid my family of 5, and often a friend or additional family member traveled all across the country and never had a problem. Sure you have to go to campgrounds or state parks that have facilities but it's not that bad. What I do think is...

Remember the Edmund Fitzgerald - November 10, 1975

I live in Duluth where she left her final port. Yesterday we had a surprisingly decent day for November, mid 30's and pretty calm. No gales or witch come slashing. It's hunting season and normally by now there would be snow on the ground but thankfully there isn't any. As a permanent resident...

    Another old war story

Thank you for telling your stories. One of my regrets in life is not talking ro my uncle enough about his time working on fast boats in Vietnam. He told a few stories at deer camp, but I would've liked to hear more and document them. Unfortunately he got sick in his older life, probably from a...

    Stop freezing pipes?

I'd winterize and just use bottled water for drinking, and a basin for washing dishes or sponge baths so you can throw it outside. The bigger problem will be going to the bathroom. Your black and grey lines will freeze right at the blade valves and you won't be able to dump them. You could try...

    Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson

Just reading the title of this forum I knew it was going to be about the scene in Rio Bravo where they're sitting in the jail singing. One of my favorite westerns, and in my opinion immensely better than the later El Dorado, a poorer imitation.

    28 ft 2003 Campmaster

They're built strong because they were cargo trailer designers before converting some into campers. I have a 2003 campmaster 25 footer that I haul my 1,000 lb atv with no problem. There's a plate on the outside driver's side front of the frame that might give you some specs, mine was so worn I...

solar generator or 2nd lithium or both or neither?

There must be more draw than you know. I've taken my popup on fall hunting trips and run the furnace all night on a single group 27 lead acid battery and those were temps around the 30's so it cycled a lot.

    I FEEL CHEATED!

Maybe I'm just a simpleton here but I don't see the cause for all this stress and anger. A simple look at the underside of the trailer before hooking up and you would've seen the problem before driving it 700 miles home. I look under my trailers every time just to see that nothing is hanging or...

    Roof reclaim/paint!?

I've used elastomeric white roof paint on a cargo trailer roof and it sealed everything up nice and solid. A coworker said he used it on a rubber roof rv and it worked for him as well.

    Anyone using GMRS radio?

I use them occasionally while hunting. Despite the claims of some of them to have 30-50 miles ranges I've found that when you're in hilly country or forest your results can and will vary. Interestingly enough you are supposed to obtain some license to be able to operate on the GMRS range of...

replacing or repairing Atwood tongue jack?

I've replaced 3 A-frame tongue jacks (named that way because the tongue makes an A shape) and the bolts holes should be a pretty universal placement and fit. I'd swap that for an electric jack, they're so much nicer and easier on your body to use.

Fifth choice decision Toy Hauler or Regular

I'd just bite the bullet and get the toyhauler. The extra length is negligible especially in terms of boondocks. You either fit, or you find a spot further down the road. The toyhauler should also give you the ability to use the ramp door as a deck which will increase your overall sense of space...
