I don't think you will save any money by buying a motorhome. If you try and use it up north in the winter it could be expensive. The chance of things freezing and busting is high. I would head south for the winter cheaper in the long run.

I just watched a youtube video of tractor-trailers going threw. I would think a motorhome would be fine.

If you don't have access to any external power how are you going to keep a battery charged? you need some way of charging a generator, solar, or something.
