I'm sorry, maybe that answer is not complete enough. Once you get the thin "FLEXSTEEL" piece off it will reveal the screws that need to be removed to get the base part of the medallion off the arm. :-[
On my Flexsteel chair arm the medallion was simply held on by some sort of adhesive. I slid a sharp edge of a blade under one end of it very carefully and was able to pull it off with minimum distortion. It was reapplied without any problem, and looks good as new.

We just finished installing the reupholstered couch in the RV. It looks great especially when compared to the crap material that was installed by Damon. I will try to attach before and after photos for you to view.
Not an easy job but it was interesting and saved lots of $$$$.

It was an interesting project, but I don't think I would want to do it full time. We did however just remove the matching couch from the RV that has the same garbage material on it. This will now become our winter project to reupholster it.
