    Southwire SurgeSuppressor "Faulty Ground" failure

Funny you said that. At first it seemed heat may have been the problem as the problem was more apparent during the afternoons. Since temperatures were not above 90F this would be a problem. The new unit solved the problem. Should this replacement become a problem, the Progressive Industries...

    Southwire SurgeSuppressor "Faulty Ground" failure

My built-in 35550 suppressor started disconnecting from shore power. I tried a variety of troubleshooting steps to determine if the problem was coming from the RV circuits or a faulty shore connection. The error code/msg was "Faulty Ground". That error message seemed illusive as I poured...

light weight 4 season fifth wheel RV

I'm thinking that RV parks will have to come up with a different fee rate for charging EV's. As far as the Tesla truck is concerned, I'd refrain from throwing rocks at the windows for a while. But I'm waiting for hydrogen fuel engines to surpass EV's

    Fuel prices and your summer

My real concern is taking off on a trip this summer and finding fuel in short supply. Rumors persist this may happen. I say its the 2020's. Everything is possible. Prove me wrong

    Tires

The Goodyear Endurance has a fairly good track record. Most RV dealers will recommend these. After checking with a number of tire stores in our area, these tires were not available. After a few minutes of searching both the Walmart online service and Amazon had these available with free...

Why are some 5th wheel trailers significantly off level when towed?

Keeping the RV level means the axles/tires are loaded equally. You can use public scales to be exact. Equal loading means reduced wear on the tires and bearings. We had to flip the axles and use 2" riser blocks to accommodate our 2015 2500 Silverado Z71. Also had to drop the truck rear 2" as...

To balance or not to balance ??

There is not a chance I'd mount any tire and not balance it. Just like getting the axles aligned. Yes its not cheap. But then neither are tires.

Air bags to soften the bounce on my 2500

Air bags may be just the ticket to soften the big ruts.

Air bags to soften the bounce on my 2500

On our current trip we encountered some amazing and crappy roads into Colorado on I70. Inside the 5th, doors and drawers were ajar not to mention our drinks in the cab. I travel at 65mph max with the 3000lb axles/tires. With just over 40k on the clock the truck gives a great ride empty or...

    Nose high 5er?

FWIW, My 2015 Silverado and 2008 Springdale were grossly mismatched. I had to add 2" blocks to lift the trailer. Then remove a 3" hitch spacer and add 2" lowering shackles to drop the truck bed. She rides nice and level now.

    Tire temperatures

I'm referring to the rear axle on the trailer. But I see your point.

    Tire temperatures

I have a TPMS system with steel stems. I also use a IR temp gun and my hand when we stop for a general check. My "system" is to watch the TPMS for relative changes. That is when a tire starts to rise or drop in temp or pressure, I make a stop to check the tire temp with the gun and my hand. I'll...

    5th wheel hitches

I have a pull-rite slider. I would not recommend. My buddy has an Anderson ball type. He cant say anything but good. Light weight that makes removal a snap. Simple design and coupling is easy and positive. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170213/2b341b9e2e733b25528826a51316c359.jpg

    Slide lubrication points

Thanks guys. That explains why there are lots of videos of operation and adjustment. Nothing about lubrication. Cheers
