    Jayco 33RLDS question

No problem, just enjoy the added space. My trailer has one side the dinning table and the other side the recliner and the sofa. We have been to a lot of campgrounds and only in about two were we real near to the neighbor. Nelson

    Wheel bearings

I will insert my 2 cents here. My trailer has the axle lube system. I used it the first year. The problem is you do not know how much to squirt since there is no feedback to know when you have enough or not enough. In my case the next season I removed the hub to examine the brakes and found that...

    Coleman Roadtrip XL Grill

I made the mistake of covering the original grill surface with foil to reduce clean up, guess what I melted the griddle. I then bpought the cast iron stuff to prevent that from happening again in addition to not using foil again. Nelson

    Incomplete TrailerLife tables

I find that the tow ratings of the trucks can not usually be achieved since the limiting factor is the truck GVW which is 9300 or 9900 for 1 ton GMC SRW. Remember that to figure  the available pin weight weigh  the truck in a ready to roll condition, including dog wife, tools and full tank. From...

    Towing a 35ft 5er With 2500 - Feedback Please

Monty It seems that you are too focused on the max pulling capacity of the 2500, you really need to concentrate on the pin weight. I have a '03 2500, it weighs 6820 with me the wife and no hitch. The hitch is a shade over 200# that is ~ 7000 - 7100#. The truck is a 9200# chassis GVW that...

    what rig for fulltiming?

If it were me and I was looking at full time, I wolud stay with the 5'er since you have a lot more room for "stuff".

    Driving Directions

Navigation in and around New York City with any gps or program I have is a challenge. I must always review the chosen route. On trips to Maine or Boston area it will try to route me over the GW bridge which is a real bottle neck then then I-95 these are awful roads. I must always redirect the...

    Travel Trailer electrical problem

It may be possible that the trailer has a wiring problem and is using ground rather than neutral as the return. You might try attaching the generator ground to a solid ground point on the trailer.

    Rising freezer temperature

We had the muffin fan with thermostat added to the stack and it really helped to keep the freezer cool.

    RVing and the Future

There are those of us that are die hards that will continue despite high fuel cost. But we will slow down to maximize the mpg. I have a 3/4 ton GMC and a heavy trailer, I have found that at 55 mph the engine is turning 1800 rpm which where the engine maxes out torque. On the last trip I was at...

RV Newbie - All Opinions Appreciated

Gary nailed it. The tow limt is really restricted by the pin weiight. With the toy haulers you will lighten the pin weight with the toys in the rear. Just a note to consider if purchasing new, look at the axel capacity vs trailer GVW, it might be desirable to get the trailer with a heavier axel...

Just Sold my pop up - Looking to upgrade to TT - what size to get

I will add a couple of comments here. My wife felt like you as we transitioned from a Pop-up, that went away after the first few rainy days and there was no dampness in the bedding. You can always go outside for the open feeling that is what the awnings are for. There is some setup required for...

    Slider Hitch???

The Pullright hitch will slide to the rear as necessary, no action required from the driver. I have the Pullright hitch my logic was like this: I spent a lot on the truck and a lot on the trailer, the cost of the hitch willl keep me from damaging the investment.

    Propane restrictions in tunnels ?

I will add my two cents here. I would avoid I-95 through NY and CT. In it's place I would suggest a) cross the Hudson using the Tappan Zee (i-287) connect to I-684 then I-84 up to I-90 (Mass Pike) connect to I-495 to I-95. b) Go up the NY Thruway i-87 to the connector to the Mass Pike (I-90) and...
