I understand there are now LiPo's that are designed to charge at below freezing temps... further, you could add a system that keeps the batteries warm enough - above freezing - so that this issue isn't an issue... or, you could house your LiPo's in an area of the MH that would not get below...

Forgive my ignorance, but that's why I come here... to learn. When I tow my car, and am told I need to disconnect the battery, is this the correct switch to use?

Lithiums perform find in Winter months below freezing... what most DON'T do is recharge under 32F. There are new LiPo on the market that contain a feature that keeps the battery above 32F, thus, they would recharge fine, but I have no personal knowledge of this...

I recommend the Victron 712 Voltmeter. It operates with WiFi, so you can monitor your batteries with your smart phone.

If i may add something to the discussion... I researched Lithium batteries, along with each alternative, when I replaced my four house batteries, wet cells, Deep Cell, but not AGM... I fo.und that the life expectancy, durability, weight, and SOC issues pointed to only one option for me -...

Perhaps I should have been more clear... I was asking about powering the cooler with a separate battery housed within the same vehicle - my SUV - that housed the cooler. It would not be connected to the RV's house batteries, but as a separate, independent system whose sole purpose was to power...
