I agree with the others.
1st question is, have you ever owned a motorhome of any type?
One of the most common things I see is someone starting small and then upgrading over and over, which gets expensive.
My very first MH was a 40' DP and I'm alone and wouldn't want anything smaller. But that's...
Are you comparing Apples to Apples?
In 1974 I would assume that the power required in a MH would be way less then what is now required on a much newer version.
Say 1000 watts in 1974 vs. 4000 watts in a 2016?
Well I'm not sure what did it but I wiggled some wires, check the fuses at the motor (all looked good)
and was able to turn one T handle about 2? (all others I couldn't move at all ).
Then went and tried to move the slides and they both are working again. ;D
Thanks for your reply.
Yes the slides are hydraulic and use the same systems as the jacks (only one fluid tank for both systems)
There are two fuses for the system. One for the front slide and one for the rear. I need to check them with an ohm meter yet.
But it would be strange if both...
On my 2002 Rexhall Rose Air - neither slide will extend.
The hydraulic jacks are working as normal.
I have checked the fuses and they look fine (but have not replaced them yet.)
One day they worked and sometime later they didn't work.
I assume that because the jacks work that there is enough...
Full timers are at home while in their Motorhome and can move their home where ever they want.
Also in my State the Police said they are not going to be stopping vehicles just to check where they are going.
They don't want to expose themselves to anything if they don't have to.
So I wouldn't...
That was one of my other requirements. I hated the thought of looking up at a TV in between the front seats.
My Rose Air has it at an angle facing the sofa at eye level and is swing-able to pivot some too.
I can see it fine from the kitchen area too.
I never understood why they...
Well I'm glad to see that your at least considering a 40ft unit. I've never heard someone saying I bought too large a unit,
but plenty say "we need to upgrade again" even when there are only 2 people using it.
When I was looking for a MH I would only look at (accept) a unit with at least 330...
You've never had a MH but you know you don't want to go to 40'?
My very first MH is 40' and I wouldn't want anything smaller and I'm alone.
I also have spent 6 months away from home and you tend to take more with you on extended stays.
Something easier to do the bigger the MH.
You are...
I also agree with the others.
I usually drive 55-60 mph and that seems to be the sweet spot for best MPG.
Slowing down (cruising) will have a much greater impact on MPG then charging a set of batteries.
I tow a trailer sometimes and sometimes not. I see very little difference either way.
So my...
Your first RV?
I'll tell you what I see.
Most people start small and then upgrade over and over.
Each time they upgrade it costs them more money.
My advice is buy as big a unit as you can afford.
My FIRST RV was a 40' MH with 2 slides and I wouldn't want anything smaller.
But you didn't...
If your plugging your 30 amp in at home you already know about adapters.
You can adapt down from 50amp to the same house outlet to run - just the frig before a trip.
Most modern campgrounds have 50amp service along with the 30amp and 20amp.
If they only have 30 amp (and 20amp) you can still...
In my Motorhome the driver's seat has a traditional shoulder/lap belt. The passenger seat only has a lap belt, so it can't be seen
by almost anyone outside the MH that the passenger is seat belted in with just a lap belt.
Not sure why it was made that way. Maybe easier for the passenger to get...
There is a Generac Dealer near me - but that doesn't help you especially since I don't know where you are.
Point is there are dealers around that could probably get it going. IF you could bring it (the RV) to a dealer you
wouldn't have to remove the unit from the RV.
Did the unit ever work? ...
