Did you get an inspector before buying your used RV?

I didn't.  I wish I had because I ended up spending a an xtra few thousand, plus the time to figure out what was wrong; where to find part; and how to fix it.  When I looked at the rig, it was hooked up to shore line, and it worked fine.  But later I found out there were problems with the...

Replacing broken vent dome - Do I need to get on roof

I came down with something that kept me from this task for a week.  I got up there today and realized that I have a Fantastic Fan.  Which means a different dome.  Camping world has one and it looks easy enough to install.  Waiting for them to open to see if they have it in stock in San...

Replacing broken vent dome - Do I need to get on roof

Thanks for all the replies.  It is the vent dome in the middle of the rear.  I realized yesterday that my container is 8+ feet high.  I plan on backing my Rv up to the container, and see, If I can't use some plywood to make a bridge from the container roof to the edge of the vent dome.  My other...

    1993 Oakland MH

At the same time, I have enjoyed the process.  It has been a learning experience, and one that I wish to continue on.  The first time we do something, its a learning experience.  My goal was to go on one big trip that took me through the West- MT WY CO, NM , then sell it for a loss because I...

Is there a better place to buy a used MH

Criagslist.  There are plenty of deals to be found and huge variety.  However, let the buyer beware.

Replacing broken vent dome - Do I need to get on roof

It already cracked into pieces.  Only one piece is attached to the up and down arm.  I guess I need to find an 8 foot ladder.

Replacing broken vent dome - Do I need to get on roof

SO my rear vent doom cracked last week, and I looked on line and it looks like you need to get on the roof.  My RV is a non-walkable roof or whatever.  The only way I can imagine accessing the roof is in a shop with scaffolds.  I also have those maxi air covers over the dome.  What to do?

    1993 Oakland MH

I'm in your boat, and I have spent close to $4,000 on top of the $11,000 for the coach.  I was thinking I was going to get away with just some new tires, but the guy lied to me about many things.  (I was ignorant and he had everything hooked up to his house power, but it struggled on it own and...

Help!!! Shattered window, (camper over cab)

I did it! And just came back from a 1200 mile plus trip.  It held up to speeds of 75 mph.  I would like to have a real window put in, but its expensive and time consuming.  If I had my way I would just fill it in with bondo or something.  What is the point of these windows anyway? Fire escape? ...

How old is to old for a MH

I think too old means no overdrive or fuel injection.  But that's me.

Need good delivery service and park model company recommendation

I have seen various models at RV dealers, and on Craigslist.  Might be best to look around the area you plan on having it.  I would find it hard to believe that you could not find a similar model in So Cal, or even in Nor cal.

    Generator cuts off

Don't know where you're relocated but Jurupa Valley / Mir Loma has a good generator mechanic who works out of his house.

    Solar power and the future

The DIY are already building Tesla walls. http://www.cryptogon.com/?p=49379  I am looking into doing something myself right now with the lithium batteries I have, but the main factor is cost.  The components are not cheap, and would cost just as much to put in your home as would an RV.  I can...

How to convert 48v lifepo batteries to 110

I have some E-bike batteries laying around and I was wondering if could hook them up to some kind of power inverter, and run my TV coffee maker or what-ever without having to turn on the generator.  THis would be to supplement my house SLAs.

If you had to do over again on your first motor home

Pay someone to inspect it.  I fell in love and just decided to go for it.  I feel I would have saved a few thousand dollars.
