Rv Place for Trailer in Washington DC

    - South west of DC in Prince William and Stafford counties, not too far from I-95, are a few compgrounds, but I'm not sure if they have a winter season or if they close after November.  Again, they are about 25~45 miles from DC.

Winterizing - Potable tank and Fresh water line question.

    - This is our first winter with our trailer so I sould us a little advice. I've been reading as many post as I could and I think I have a winterizing scheme. Our TT has both a "City" (Fresh?) water hose fitting and a "Potable" inlet on the outside of the TT. At the end of the season there will...

    What TT approximately 3500 lbs?

Is it better hitch hi or rear hi? Can't get level

    - Ah, I think I'm getting it. First I measure the unhitched TV front and rear wheel fender opening heights. Then hitch up the trailer. Add or remove links in the WD bars until the TV rear and front measures at or slightly lower than the unhitched heights (but the same attitude as unhitched -...

WD bars? Selecting the right weight/size

    - Thanks for the help.  The TT dry is 3,500 and TT GVW is 5,800 lbs.  I know we're nowhere near that limit.  We weight everything and pack very lightly (Gary RV warned us about too much weight on a V6 SUV). So it seems the 600 lb bars are a keeper. I do have a leveling question in the newbie...

Is it better hitch hi or rear hi? Can't get level

    - I've got an '09 borrego (Mid size SUV) and a 23 ft TT (Gulfstream Visa) with Eaz-Lift hitch and 600 lb WD bars. If I use 1 free link on the WD bars the hitch is low and the rear of the TT is hi, if I use 2 free links on the WD bars the hitch is hi and the rear of the TT is low.  In either...

WD bars? Selecting the right weight/size

    - I could use some insight on picking the right WD bars. The TT lists 370 lbs TW The TV receiver rated at 500 lbs (wo/WD - 1000 lbs w/WD) The current hitch has 600 lbs bars. I've ordered a ProPride (PP) hitch with 600 lbs bars ... but ... the PP weighs 70~90 lbs more than my current hitch...

    Travel trailer battery box

    - Make sure the plastic housing for your battery has drain holes in the bottom! We've had lots of heavy rain in our area since we bought our Gulfstream Visa TT a few weeks ago.  So last night I went to check on it to see if there were any leaks.  Opened the door, flipped the light switch...

Touch Audio DVD/CD/Radio Player (Ent. Sys. Replacement ?)

    - Hi all. Has anyone replace their RV's entertainment system yet?  Our TT came with a Touch Audio entertainment system.  Well, I guess the entertainment part comes from trying to make it work - hours and hours of family fun :o Anyway, the radio is fine, the CD works ok enough, the DVD doesn't...

    Suburban Water Heater Won't Light

    - Thanks for the info.  I didn't know about who covers what in warranties.  I called Suburban directly and talked to one of their tech guys (I'm not so good with names so I can't say who it was).  He was helpful and very supportive.  He suggested I check the igniter for cracks in the porcelain...

    Suburban Water Heater Won't Light

    - It's a new Suburban 6 gal DSI gas WH (The trailer is only 1 month old).  The first time we went RVing for a few days it was fine.  This last time it worked for the first few hours then failed to light after that. Here's kinda the how and steps I've taken (It's kinda long winded but I figured...

    New Grand Cherokee

Jeff- We just went through the same questions but with our V6 Kia borrego (With 5,000 max towing)  Last month we bought a 23ft Gulf Stream Visa (Just over 25ft bumper to hitch), with a delivered weight of 3,650, and have taken it out a few times so here's what I can share. Your tow vehicle is...

Kia Borrego V6 (Mid SUV) and trailer size?

    - Sweeeeeeet !! We ran it unloaded (no water), with sway control, and it did pretty well.  Flat highway speeds of 60-65 in fith gear, rolling hills in forth, uphill in third.  I can see where a heavier tow vehicle would be better, but to be honest, the Borrego did really good without laboring...

Handling water for occasional RVing ?

    - We are about to take delivery of our first TT but are clueless about what to do with the water systems.  We'll be occasional weekenders and will store our TT away from the house, but not sure how to handle the water systems. I'm pretty sure the RV dealer will have some water in the lines to...

    Still shopping and feeling discouraged.

    - Good deals can be made, but you kinda have to make it happen.  It doesn't matter too much when the dealer says they can go down to $xx price, you have to go in with the attitude that you'll pay $xx to take it off their hands and get it off their lot. After we  focused in on a unit we went to...
