Im considering getting this service. Does anyone have any experience with Starlink they can share? Also please chime in if you don’t have it but have done some research.

    Towing with Tacoma

They are great trucks. Mine was a 6spd manual and it’s my favorite vehicle I’ve owned. Although planning fuel can be a pain it can also be fun to figure out your route. My experience is from Saskatchewan and the Dakota’s so everything is spread out. If you’re traveling in more populated...

    Towing with Tacoma

I towed a Jayco 22BHW with a 2018 Tacoma for two seasons. I absolutely loved the truck but towing was a bit of a pain. It had enough power (for the most part) and I never felt unsafe but it did get pushed around in the wind more than the Tundra we replaced it with. My biggest gripe was the...

    Safety Check…

Since my first post on the forum was how to remove a safety device I feel obligated to remind everyone that now is a great time to check your fire extinguisher is in working order, test your smoke, propane & CO detectors and inspect your gas appliances to make sure they are clean & in safe...

    Wheel X-chocks

I had never heard of it until Rene T mentioned it. I actually considered MacGuiver’ing this exact apparatus on our last trailer, boy would I have been disappointed that it wasn’t my original idea! Haha. The wobble is from the trailer teetering slightly on the stabilizer jacks so this system...

Lesson learned- no hot water on a brand new travel trailer

I should add- if anyone has this problem and finds that your heater works with the thermal cut off removed, MAKE SURE that there was not a problem that caused the safety to do it’s job. If you an unsure whether it is safe to operate, leave it off and have it looked at.

Lesson learned- no hot water on a brand new travel trailer

This is actually a legit concern, you absolutely need to consider dissimilar metals as they can react & corrode prematurely. I installed a brass bodied ball valve which is the same material as the relief valve on the heater. There is a potential for electrolysis but it will be limited, brass...

Thanks for adding info. This is a slippery slope… we’ll be towing a second parts trailer pretty soon lol.

Lesson learned- no hot water on a brand new travel trailer

Thanks for the feedback Gary, I appreciate your concern. I looked over the heater and can say with certainty that it was a nuisance failure of the part. Coincidentally I’m a plumber & gas fitter and I spent the time to check the water heater, furnace, and stove operation when we PDI’d the...

Lesson learned- no hot water on a brand new travel trailer

Thanks, it can be tricky to fit a valve in there but if you can make it work it saves skinned knuckles and clunking around in there with a wrench to deal with a plug.

Lesson learned- no hot water on a brand new travel trailer

I wanted to share this problem & solution in hopes it saves someone an chilly shower. We were out on our maiden voyage and our water heater completely died. We have a 6gallon dometic gas/electric water heater in our Grand Design TT. I assumed it was the control board and was fretting over the...

    Hello everyone

Hi all, I’ve been browsing the site for a few months and thought I’d join the chat. We started with a 2015 StarCraft 15RB which we quickly outgrew, moved up to a 2018 Jayco 22bhw, and just “moved in” to our Grand Design Imagine 2910BH. We love the experiences we get to share as a family and I...
