Challenges of Buying a Vintage RV Far From Home

I found a vintage RV that I would really like to own. It's 1100 hundred miles from me. The seller is asking 69k. Known issues are: It needs 6 tires, an oil change and a $900 fridge repair. I don't see how I can travel 1100 miles, get an inspection, line up the required work, then drive it...

Fort Hood TX 2018 - 2021, stayed in my camper under pads essentially covered by pole barn; tremendous advantage in central TX heat. For parks without, what say the forum on those aftermarket shades atop roof...? Thank you truly for this site!

Is Separate MPPT Worth It for Each Side of Rooftop Solar Panels?

I have 3x 100watt panels on each side of my roof. Depending upon where I am parked, each side of the trailer gets a significantly different amount of sun for a decent portion of the day. Would I get better output if the curbside panels had a separate mppt from the streetside? I know it is...

Is LiquidSpring Suspension Worth the High Cost for RVs and Pickups?

I first found ut about Liquid Springs at the Tamps RV show sharing a spot at the Lazy Days booth. They were pretty new at the time and mainy for a gas class A. They had a demo motorhome for test drives. At the time I had nt Country Coach, so it was just a curious thought. This past month I...

Is Starlink Mini Worth It for Occasional RV Use? Setup, Plans, and Real-World Tips

Considering starlink. But I know nothing about it. Im leaning towards the mini. Thing is during the year we might be in rv 5 times a year. From 3 days to 3 weeks at a time. So the mini would be used only that much. But a few questions are is it wireless? Would it work sitting on the dash of a...

Are Cattle Sale Barn Restaurants Worth a Lunch Stop on the Road?

I am just wondering if anyone else stops for lunch at cattle sale barn restaurants on travel days? I have stopped at a few over the years, mostly when crossing Texas on secondary highways, and have generally found it to be a positive experience, with good cheap food, though I only stop on non...

Is an RV Water Softener Worth It for Summer Travel?

I saw an advertisement for a RV Water Softener and it got me thinking, why would I want a water softener in my RV? Although I have one in my house where I spend 95% of the time. Then three months in the summer in the RV, would life be better with one? How so? Thanks Paul

Are Propane Fire Pits Worth the Cost and Heat Output?

When I first received our trailer I had already purchased a propane fire pit. I used it once. I felt it didn't throw any heat. Sure I didn't smell like wood smoke when I went to bed but still. It was chilly, it didn't help. So when I saw this today I clicked on it. It's billed as the...

Is RV Life Pro Worth Renewing or Should I Switch to Other Tools?

We have a RV Life pro subscription. It's going to renew next month. Although we have used it multiple times, I find it quite confusing to get things set up easily and often the route prescribed is much longer, whereas Google maps have been shorter with no hazardous situations. I do enjoy the...

Is a 1998 Safari Sahara Worth the Risk for a DIY Upgrade?

I'm looking to move up to a diesel pusher from our old gasser for a budget not so big. I have been looking at a 1998 35' Safari Sahari with the Cat engine and one slide. Is a Parking Brake Worth Adding to a Teardrop Trailer Build?

Hello Folks, I'm in the process of gathering supplies to build a Teardrop and there is the question of a parking break option on the Dexter brake system. Is the Quartzsite RV Show Worth It for Buyers and Campers?

Complete waste for us. Went primarily to look at new DPs. Saw one, hated the interior. Saw a bunch of used, every one smelled of either smoke or mildew. Saw nothing in the line of "sports". On the bright side, had a few days of great riding the SxS in the desert. If (a really big IF) we ever...

Is FlexArmor Roofing Worth the Investment for RV Owners?

Have 2024 Isata 3. It's stored under roof, but open. Looking to be proactive and install the RV FlexArmor roofing. I've had rear window leakage (Dynamax fixed on factory trip) but none from the roof (that I know of...yet). I like the idea of a lifetime warranty that is transferrable. Vendor...

Is a Pre-Purchase Inspection Worth It for a Used Winnebago View 24G?

I am looking at buying a used UL Class C, specifically a 2017 or 2018 Winnebago View 24G. Any input on that is appreciated. Do you think it is worth it to hire and independent inspector to look at it before buying? That's an additional $1,500 bucks but it might be worth it?

    Is a $2,500 Overhaul Worth It for a 2017 Jayco 21QB at 50,000 Miles?

I’m looking for a sanity check and some "been there, done that" advice. We have a 2017 Jayco 21QB that my AI bot calls "The Unicorn." The floorplan is perfect for us, and I honestly prefer the low-tech reliability (like the 3-way fridge) we know over the new stuff. But with 50,000 miles on the...

Are $379 Sneakers Really Worth It for RVers?

Recently my ad blocker stopped working so I have been seeing ads while surfing. I saw some ads for good looking tennis shoes and clicked on one and was shocked to see it was $379. The cheaper priced sneakers were only $170. I really doubt many RVers are buying $400 sneakers.
