It could be a big deal when he goes to sell it. The buyer could demand it be working or else no deal.
My 2015 Jeep Wrangler has a 120V AC plug in the console-I'm just WAG'n it but anymore it wouldn't surprise me to find an OEM 120V outlet in a vehicle.
If it is a floating or open neutral like @Kirk mentioned it could be a shock hazard.Depends on how mportant that is to you. If you don’t plan to use the plug not as big of a deal. But if you plan to use it, it’s a bigger issue.
If it is a chassis outlet, then it would be a Ford issue and the source would be an inverter. Even so, I would not accept delivery without it working properly. If they do that then the dealer will probably tell them to take it to Ford and he won't be any help. And what else isn't working? I'm not so sure that I would continue to deal with a dealership that acts as they seem to be.I have these 120 plugs in both my fords
After alot of discussion between us together, and us and the RV dealer, we did end up deciding to pick up the unit, knowing full well we are now stuck with getting the plug fixed down the road despite their promise to make it right. We tried to be clear about the issue with the sales manager from the week before - that trying to push us out the door with the faulty leveling jacks almost lost the sale and didn't exactly inspire confidence. I guess the fact we declined pick-up last week after the walk-through caused quite the to-do internally after we left. But at any rate we decided if they do end up fixing it, fine; if not, we'll do it. Having the professional inspection and the wise words of the group definitely helped us so much, and we appreciate everyones advice.Keep us updated on this issue. Inquiring minds would like to know.
I suggest that the first thing to do is to contact the Ford Customer Service line [(800) 241-3673]. If you tell them about the problem they may set up an appointment for you or at least direct you to the place to get it resolved. But at any rate we decided if they do end up fixing it, fine; if not, we'll do it.
