Location
Lake Havasu City, AZ
It has been around 115 degrees here in Lake Havasu so Renae suggested that we go up north to the mountains for relief from the heat.

We are going to the Canyon Motel and RV Park in Williams so that we can actually sit outside without roasting.

We have not moved the new RV from the driveway since the 50 mile round trip back in April to the river. I hope that I do not have a repeat of the mirror accident.

A few years ago we stayed at this campground and enjoyed the town of Williams, AZ. Williams has lots of shops and tourist attractions. We may even take the train to the Grand Canyon.

Here are a couple of pictures of the park.

Sounds great Bill. I am sure the drive will be uneventful. Hope you both have a lovely time.

How can you guys survive with temps Like that. We complain here when it gets up to around 90 but usually it’s very humid. Is it also humid for you guys or is it dry?

DO take the train, Bill. It's a fun trip, reminiscent of train rides in the '40s and '50s. And they put on quite a show (shootout) just before departure. It's been a while ('90s) since our last trip on that train, but they had the Keokuk Chief observation car then and we were fortunate enough to ride that one way -- neat experience.

It's a dry heat, Rene. Pahrump is similar and the trick is to get up early and get outside stuff done before the temperature gets excessive. 95-105 is endurable for short bursts (5-10 minutes) as long as you have a cool space to retreat into. Mine is my insulated shed/mancave where a 400 watt window a/c keeps it in the 70s when it's 115 outside. Give me a comfortable chair, PC, TV and small refrigerator and I'm set for the day.

Actually, If I stay inside it is very comfortable. The problem is you feel like you are trapped inside.

Going anywhere outside is kind of like the Movie "Riddick", where they are trying to escape the prison planet "Crematorium".

The procedure for going to anywhere like the food store is the following.

Get in the car in the garage.
Open the door with the remote.
Start the car and turn on the A/C at max.
Drive to the store and park as close to the entrance as possible.
Use the remote to start the car and cool it off before going to car.
Upon returning home drive into garage and close door before exiting the car.

Now, that sounds like the movie "Riddick".

We have two large industrial type A/C units on the roof and they keep the inside temperature in the 70s. We also have 20 foot ceilings in three of the rooms and 10 foot ceilings in all the bedrooms.

We just long for the great Fall, Winter, and Spring weather outside.

Thank You Sir.

I cannot take the credit, Renae picked it out and she is the decorator and has much better taste than I do.

I keep trying to get forum members to come visit.

We have plenty of room and the guest rooms have their own bathrooms like in a hotel.

Bill and Renae are wonderful people and you are treated like Royalty so I recommend visiting them!

I had one trip to Havasu and walking between hotel and restaurant we were soaked in sweat. This was around 7pm and when temps high.

You are so right Jackie. We met them 4 or 5 years ago on our trip back to NH from FL where he was setting up 2 of the mobile operating rooms. Although we weren’t able to spend much time with them because of commitments back home, what time we did spend with them was very enjoyable. We wish we could do it again.
