12 volt power loss

I hit auto zone for a smart car charger. Since it was not nearly 80 amps (MY PD-80) Took it 24 hours to go from "Charge" to "Float" and then it was time to head to Tekonsha, Marshall, PD and pop in the new one.
 
There is usually a way to get by for a while. For example, run the vehicle engine to keep the house battery charged until you can get a converter.

Yeah, that's how I got my morning coffee that day. Jump started the RV engine from the Jeep. That gave me enough power that the generator stayed running long enough for coffee and breakfast. Moved to an RV park with power the day before the storm hit, ordered the converter and received it the next day in time to install it before the snow got 8"deep.
