I'd like to mount a motor to my landing gear (cranking is such a drag), but I don't want to spend $400+ for a kit.  Has anyone ever tried just mounting a 12vdc motor to the crank gear?

John,

If you're talking about the stabilizing jacks on your trailer, I see a lot of folks use a battery powered drill with a socket to crank up and down.

Tom suggestion is an excellent one. I have also seen folks use a drill motor to crank the jacks.  Might want to give that a try.  Besides never know when a drill motor may come handy for other repairs or projects.

I use a Sears 19.2 volt cordless 3/8" drill to put my stabilizers up and down.  I can do all 4 stabilizers on one battery charge and it has plenty of torque.
