1990 Winnebago Wilderness Trailer: Seven Pin Wiring Color Code Help

Hey folks, I’ve been RVing for 40 years, but I’m new to this platform and excited to chat with like-minded adventurous people.
I bought a 1990 Winnebago wilderness trailer for my daughters to use when we go camping. It is in great shape, but the previous owner had cut off the damaged seven pin plug and never replaced it before he sadly passed away.
My question is, does anyone have the color code for the wiring of this plug? I contacted Winnebago, but they don’t have the information as the corporation had a different owner at that time. The standard modern day seven pin code does not work.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Wiring may have been changed over time. You will have to use a multimeter to determine which is ground and from there apply 12 volts to each wire and see what lights up. Electric brake you will have to listen to.

EDIT: Use an inline fuse if you are not adventurous.

I think you have confused Winnebago with Fleetwood. The Wilderness was a Fleetwood brand trailer and Fleetwood did change hands about 15 years ago and the trailer product line was dropped at that time. Winnebago has not changed hands at all.

To the best of my knowledge, that "standard modern day seven pin code" has been in place much longer than 1990. I recall having it on a 1976 travel trailer. But the 7-pin round connector is different than the 7-pin blade (Pollack) connector.

You need to identify the individual wire that are remaining. They probably do not conform to the recommended color coding for the 7-in Pollack connector, but they still need to have wires, for left & right stop &turn, tail lights, electric brakes, 12v power, ground, and reverse (back-up) lights. See post #2 for the way to figure out what you have. Then wire to a 7-pin plug accordingly.

On the tow vehicle side, there may not be standard wiring. Some modern vehicles use separate stop & turn wires. There are combiner modules that will convert separate stop & turn to the combo wiring that the 7-pin standard expects.
