Found an interesting 1996 factory glitch. The back wall of the Warrior isn?t attached to the frame of the flooring. At all. No screws or mounting hardware anywhere. You can look down at the road from over the edge of the bed. Nice factory install! I know it?s old but still a bit of a poke in the eye.
The exterior moulding that goes across the back exterior, I assume is supposed to have screws that?s go into the floor frame.
But it mounted too high and no screws go through, as they would poke right into the rear compartment. So you can grab the back wall at the bottom and pull it back about an inch.
Looks like it?s been that way since day one.
Or am I misinterpreting how this was supposed to have been built originally? Supposed to be glued together?

A bit late for that now. I did a repair. The were actually 3 screws that had missed the perimeter frame entirely. So I pulled off the existing aluminum moulding, Cleaned up the area, caulked everything and reinstalled the extruded aluminum strip with stainless #8 X 2? screws right through and into that frame.
Added a few additional # 12?s in another area - and we?re good to go.

I wondered why the new CO detector at the back would alert anytime I started the engine.
The exhaust was sneaking in the gap.  Kinda scary. All good now- but I?m remarkably un-impressed with the original ?aim? of the screws. Not to mention few and far between.

I?m going to go round the whole unit and remove each section of the extruded aluminum moulding and check all the mounts / replace w stainless.
If I find any additional problems, I?ll post some pics.
