We finally spent a night in the RV. for the most part everything went well. The wife cooked a real dinner on the stove. (Pork roast, gravy and rice) She forgot the green beans. LOL On that note we did have to run into the house for little things but nothing we couldn't live without. I even made use of the shower just to make sure everything works. Gas/Electric water heater works great

I turn the AC on @ 0600 hrs to get a jump on the heat of the day. It hit 92 and the trailer is sitting completely out in the sun. We headed out to RV around 1600 hrs. the temp was holding around 75.

Problems
1  The mattress failed to cool off much. My wife installed a extra thick mattress pad along with sheet and a thick comforter. I'm thinking all that extra padding helped hold the heat in. Next time we will remove the comforter from the bed when we start prepping for a overnight trip.
2  The entire RV seems to move anytime someone moves. this includes when the dog jumps off the couch.( He's weighs less than 20 pounds) All the stabilizers are down and we are parked on concrete. I'm guessing this is normal??
3 Gizmo(the Dog) doesn't do well in the RV. He will get used to the change. However the steps are a problem for him. I got some cheap wrap around rugs that use springs to hold them onto the steps. But I need to find something more durable.

Conclusion
I would encourage anyone new to RVs to spend the night in the RV at home to make sure things work. I have spent a lot of time trying to get things ready. A special Thank You to all the folks on this site. I have spent most of my free time reading the old threads. I may not remember everything but I will remember reading it here.....and I will keep reading.

Sounds like you are getting all the details squared away on your setup! Very good.

As far as the moving rv... did you make sure you were level front-to-back as well as left-to-right? The only time ours really wiggles when walking around is if the stabilizers aren?t down. Maybe someone else may chime in with advice.

Have fun on your upcoming adventures! You are off to a great start, but you will find many more quirks you will figure out along the way. But that?s is all part of the fun!  ;D

We find that devices something like this do a great job of stopping the trailer from rocking when parked.

By the way, excellent idea to camp in the driveway first and make sure you haven't forgotten anything! Very wise. ;)

Looking online at pictures of your RV, I think you have the standard scissor stabilizing jacks. Try cranking up on them another full turn.

The locking wheel chocks that Frank suggests are a great improvement to the trailer-rocking situation.  That stops the wheel movement that results from the sring suspension flexing.  In the meantime, try cranking a bit more pressure on the stabilizer jacks.

Many people who have older pets get portable ramps so their fur babies can avoid using the steps.  Something like that might help, especially with a smaller dog.

It's not that he's old...According to the wife he could be a "little" overweight. According to me he"s FAT. Either way he has tiny feet so he doesn't do well on the metal steps. I've covered them in the wrap around carpets from Wally world. But I need to find something a little easier to deal with when we setup.
He did try the covered steps and it seems to work for him.

Regarding the movement of the RV

The RV is very level. It has levels mounted on the tongue. And they are dead centered. I also checked the RV with a torpedo level in different spots. It confirmed the levels on the tongue.

I will crank the jacks a little tighter. I was warned during training not to over crank them so I've been treading lightly. The young man that was training us was somewhat less than knowledgeable on a couple of things on this RV. I would guess this subject could be included with " That 40 amp fuse is OK...even though it's a 30 amp system. (I look it up in the owner manual and checked online and it should be a 30 Amp..I changed it.) He also didn't know how to turn on the furnace.

I am looking into X braces. I see a pair in my future. I had the wife walk around in the RV while I was outside watching the wheels. HOLY CRAP you could wear out a tire and never leave the house. I switched places with her so she would understand why we may need to spend the money.
Thank you for all the feedback.
