I’m in the hunt for shocks. Did RV Co upgrade shocks to the Chevy chassis with a heavy duty shocks when adding their coachwork? My 2000 chassis is based on Express 3500. With substantial weight gain after these rigs are converted, do I need super heavy duty shocks or just order some made originally for a 3500 chassis?

What Fleetwood model is it? Tioga or Jamboree, for example? That might help identify it better.

The chassis for the class C coaches is called a van cutaway and it is typically configured somewhat differently than an Express 3500 passenger or utility van. Things like heavy duty alternator, max cooling, etc. I don't know if the shocks were one of the differences, though. Unfortunately many parts suppliers don't list the van cutaway (aka stripped motorhome) chassis as a separate type.

i agree that you want the best quality shocks you can get because the chassis is always loaded near its max capacity (GVWR).

This web page has a lot of spec info on the 2000 Express cutaway.
