Going to look at a 36,000 miles 37' 2005 Tiffin Allegro Bay 8.1L this weekend.

Did some research and saw references to a brake recall.  How might I determine if the used rig needed the recall and got it?

Other issues for this model?

Finally, I see a lot of p[ositive comments about Tiffin as an OEM.  Do they still provide excellet support?

thx to anyone taking the time to offer advice.

If the 2004/2005 chassis is a Workhorse W20 or W22, it is subject to the recall.  This topic (on another RV site) will probably answer many of your questions, and I'm pretty sure that Ed Gray (see other topic) can get current status on any Workhorse VIN.

Unfortunately, the website that Workhorse used to maintain to give recall info and status is no longer available. The original company went out of business and the new Workhorse company is not in the motorhome chassis business.

Hi Mark. Gary summed up the brake recall, and to answer your questions about Tiffin in general, yes... they have a very good reputation for building RVs, and they're near the top of the list when it comes to service. I understand that they've had to change their appointment policies, due to increased business, but rarely do you hear of poor quality service at Red Bay.

All RV manufacturers let lemmons slip by (some more than others) but it's14 years old, so how well it's been maintained over the past several years will really determine condition. We had a '99 Tiffin Allegro for 12 years. It was well maintained and we rarely ever had any issues with it.
