Hi All!

We are the process of looking for a used Class A.. Come across a Georgie-Boy RV for Sale - 2006 Georgie Boy Pursuit (3500DS). Only has 10,000 miles. What are you guys thoughts on the Georgie Boy. Any major issues with them.

When shopping for a used RV I feel that floor plan, condition and price are way more important than the manufacturer. It might have been a great unit when it was manufactured but a lack of maintenance has turned it into a dog. Since it is 7 years old if it has the original tires then they will be out of date and should be replaced no matter what the tread looks like.

What SeilerBird  said! Any GBM specific issues would have been worked out more than likely, just like a similarly aged Itasca, Monaco or Coachman. The RV systems are made by the same manufacturers as any other RV. Floor plan (if you are married remember "happy wife, happy life") , condition and price are the big issues for you now.

Hi,

We just traded a 2006 GB Pursuit (32DS) and really enjoyed it for 40,000 miles. These are built to a price, but the manufacturer made many good decisions with the design. Examples include two way powered jacks, and a quality converter.

All else being equal, and with an acceptable floor plan, I'd recommend one.

We have a 2004 Georgie Boy Pursuit 3500DS on Ford chassis.  I think the 2006 is the same floor plan which, for us, is great - really opens up the couch with the double slides.  The bathroom is on the small side but do not spend much time there.  Inside has lots of hanging/cabinet storage + under bed.  The couch pulls out into bed but the slide must be out.  Also MUST move the driver chair back forward before extend the slide.

If the 2006 is the same, the carrying capacity is large (+3000 lbs.) and the tow rating good.  Your need to check that out.  The Ford chassis is proportional to the length of the motorhome so it gives good stable
ride/drive.

As Ernie says, they were built to a price, which is more entry level.  For the price it is really a very well thought out floorplan. very functional and a nice coach.  We are still happy with our choice.

Check if manuals and maintenance records present.  Check DOT date code of  tires.  Tires should be change every 7 years.  Check NADA for price.  Do not add options.  Not sure what to say about low miles as that may not be good.  What are hours on generator?

Kevin, bottom line, if you like the floorplan and all systems work, go for it.  If you have further questions feel free to ask.

Jennifer

Hi Kevin. Bought a '04 Georgie Boy Landau on a workhouse Chassis (8.1 vortec/Allison Trans) with 23K a year and a half ago. Love it. We've had only a couple of very minor issues that would be classified as very normal wear and tear. I was new to RV'ing and had an experienced friend come with me to put it through the paces. Check the slides, run the water pump, fridge, check interior ceiling for any leak, tires for ANY sign of dry rot etc. The milage is certainly a big plus. Good luck and have fun if you get it.
